When to scrape???

Being that I am a BHO newb I am starting to realize that there are certain steps that are more critical than others to producing a quality end product. Initially my main concern was removing impurities and solvents and not so concerned with consistency. Now I want a product that is easier to handle as well as pure.

My question is: when is it the right time to scrape? After people cook down the absolute, what do they do next? Do the scrape while still warm and gooey, let it completely cook down till hard, or let it air dry overnight and scrape while dry? I've done all three and have had different results but also used different vac times and temps so there are too many variables for me to know yet.

Last night I scraped while still gooey and warm. Vacuumed for 12 hours and got a grainy honeycomb. Is that because I scraped too early or is it because I need more vac time?

please advise!!!

yup thats fine.. thats the wax process just starting.. its a good sign!!

I scrape it right away when its warm and sticky still, but not too warm and sticky or else its hard to scrape. if its too thin.. wait 30 seconds. that way you dont need to let it cool and then apply more heat to it (less heat the better IMO)

leave it for 12-24 more hours at that temp and itll dry right out.. just like this picture:

Kanivers,

After the initial blast, the time to scrape is contingent upon your extract.(look/texture)

I've found a dish that I can fit in my chamber...this was the best thing I've obtained since learning hash-oil.

My dish is American made Pyrex 8” x 6” and would fit perfectly into most of today's common chambers.

No more transfer, to lose product while transferring from blade to parchment.

Jmho.

Edit: without vac, I usually stick to 1 hour of heat purge per gram of oil@around 100°-110° F

As a reference point here is what my oil looks like before the scrape, this is after a short vac session, and using a technique that I'm keeping close guard of, as it will most certainly spark a debate...lol
Clarity

Another reference point

True Honeycomb texture.

Edit:
Wanted to add this to this specific post.. The same slab cut in half to show it's inner structure

And one more just for bragging rights..haha..j/k

Aww shit now I want to know your technique lol
Don't worry about a debate I'm sure someone is doing what your doing or had thought about it already.
