When to start adding nutes.

I feel like a dumbass asking this because I've been growing for a while and I shouldn't be having this problem. I used to use H&G nutes and would add them starting from germination and they would grow fine. Now I've switched to Dyna Gro and can't seem to get past the seedling stage.

First I started using the foliage pro along with h202 and they would germinate then pop up and the seed case wouldn't come off and if it did the leaves wouldn't open. Then after about a week of no growth or change I took a look at the roots and the tap root was just shriveled and brown looking like it hadn't grown at all.

I called up the the company and talked to the guy and switched to the grow and added kln and pro tekt. He said most people wait for about 2 weeks before they add nutes but I could probably just add 1ml of each and be ok. Tried it and they did the same thing.

Then I did a bunch of reading and realized I might be adding too much h202. So on my next batch of seeds I cut that out completely. They did the same thing.

I'm now down to my last three seeds. My local water is around 120 ppm and on the last test it had some arsenic levels that are higher than federal standards or whatever. I went ahead and ordered a 5 stage ro filter.

My question is can someone tell me from experience what I should do. I'll be using ro water in 1 inch rockwool cubes to start off with. The temperature of the medium is about 80 and the air temp is between 76-78. The humidity stay around 10% with a co2 level of about 700 ppm. When should I start adding nutes? I'm going to feel like a jackass if I kill these last ones and don't get any bud out of a full seed order.

Well first off I am sorry for your losses. Personally if I just killed a batch of seeds with new nutes I would lose the nutes. I germ my seeds in rockwool often but I am a soil grower so I can't answer your nute question, but even in rockwool seedlings will last a couple of weeks without nutes. Remember how tender the roots are and they injure and burn easily. All said and done I would try bagseed or cheap seeds now until you figure out what went wrong. Good Luck and Happy Growing
