Coco as stated above, as an inert media it contains no nutrients so you need to feed it early(think hydro)

Never. You give it "nutrients" or "fertilizer," not chemicals. I'd say around week 3 or 4, at 1/4 strength.

Start by giving about 100ml of pure C6H6 per gallon of RO water and get back to us.
