Hello everyone. I have 2 female lemon skunk plants. They will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. I was just curious when someone should start nutes on plants? I have fox farm nutes. So the feeding schedule says 6tsp of big bloom at week 1. I know thats too much. I just watered with ph water. So know it says 6tsp of big bloom and 2tsp of grow big. I know thats way too much still for a 2 week old plant. So what would be for dosage and when too start using them? Thank you for the help.

so 2 weeks means 2 weeks from seed. But what about clones? arent clones already mature? ofc i am talking about rooted clones with new sprouted leaves. and apart from the rooting gel.

I make my clones with a diy bubble cloner.
They go in soil, spend a couple of days (2 to 3) under fluorescents, 18/6 with nothing but water then I start with nutes.
Zero casualties or stress thus far :)

Well, the original question was WHEN do you start with nutrients. I know I have struggled with this also. And, if you have really good soil (like Foxfarm's) it is already full of nutrients when you start. I should have known this. I fed my plants right after I transplanted them. I used half the suggested quantities and just smoked my plants. They burnt up and did not recover. Living in this Hell hole called Kansas means buying seeds stealth, and after all the stress and money involved in getting the damn seeds only to destroy them made me heartsick.
So, after all that, I'm afraid to give them anything while they are in veg. And let's remember, we are talking SEEDS, not clones.............Keep Growing!

Depends on the age of the clone. The situation? Roots and their growth. The plant must have a root system to take the nutrients in. This is why the cote leaves are so well stocked. Vertical growth should be noted before starting nutrients. Not just the initial growth spurt as that is to establish enough plant to help grow a root system. It's roots before shoots, seed or clone.

Folks - learn to read the plant. She will tell you what she needs. There are illustrated guides I have seen for most deficiencies and overdose symptoms. I will say this right now - you will run into far more trouble using nutes than if you did an entire grow without them. Keep this in mind and feed reduced strength feedings always until you have enough experience to look at the plant and check for any deficiencies or problems and address those only instead of a shotgun approach. Think of it this way - as a human would you want to be forced to take medicine because your neighbor is sick?

Well i wouldnt give anything but water until i see a whole new set of leaves and branches. which means roots have already grown good.
