Hi RIU. You can check out my grow in my signature for more info on my first grow.

Thanks for all the great info so far its been really helpful.

I've been growing these black domina for about a month now (I don't know the exact date that I started around the middle of November though)

I have a 400w MH running currently and an HPS bulb for when I switch flowering. When should I switch? Any telltale signs?

Here is a shot of my biggest plant right now.

Close up if this helps for any information

The real question is, how big do you want them to get. Like dannyboy said, you can flip them any time.
Okay.. good to know.. I've got a couple of smaller ones that I only started about two weeks ago. I guess I'll give it another week and then flip things over... good to know that it doesn't really matter...

thanks for the replies as always!

I like to supercrop to keep em bushy then i just let them grow as tall as I want them to get . When they get to the particular height that I like I flip em.. Leave a little room for stretch..

I like to switch to flower when the plant tells me it is mature enough. You know when it is mature because instead of two leaves and bud sites forming at each node, there will only be one. That is when she is ready to be flowered.

However, If you are limited available grow space, Flower when ever you want to. Remember that the plant will nearly triple in size during the first couple weeks of flower, so plan accordingly.

The stretch won't necessarily be 3x. Stretch during flowering is strain dependent, and also depends on how you train your girls. I have 4 strains in 7 weeks of flowering now, and one of them has tripled in height (sativa dom) and another that has less than doubled in height (indica dom).
