When to top dress?

So I'm growing in Sohum and just transplanted my most recent plants into their homes a couple weeks before the flip into flower. It's now been around 3 weeks since flip and I'm starting to think about adding a top dressing of 50% strength Terp Tea.

Is now the right time? Should I have been doing this since the flip? Is it just totally not going to make a difference growing is "super soil?"

It takes a few weeks for all that to break down and become available to the plants so yes it is actually a little late in the game but adding a top dressing will help at some point in the not too distant future. You have to sort of give what is needed weeks before it actually is. Living soil doesn’t stay active forever; what is lacking in a product like Terp Tea is compost which drives the soil by decomposing organic matter.
I’m trying to understand why you don’t use the terp tea as a tea as it is so designed. I add many of the same amendments in the ingredient list to my living soil but NPK is only half of the equation. Adding worm Castings to the terp tea and bubbling it for 36+ hrs would help keep your existing mix active w/ microbes and begin breaking down even faster. Maybe add a tsp of molasses too. You can just as easily add fresh EWC to your top dressing and water that in but brewing as a tea will help make everything soluble much faster. I’m guessing your plants are transitioning and probly need a boost right now, am I right?

50% of recommed dosage is perfect. I've been using 3-4 teaspoons of Terp Tea every week to topdress my 7 gallon pots and it's been plenty.

Now (five weeks in final pots, 3rd week of flower) is a Great time for a top dress. Maybe, maybe you're 1 week behind, like 4 weeks in final pots/2 weeks in flower would have been ideal. But if your super soil was loaded and your plants are still green and healthy it won't matter much.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about using the Terp Tea as a top dress. I believe the nutrients become available pretty fast. Some slight portion of most amendments is water soluble right away. And the mix has several ingredients, so you're getting at least a little bit from a bunch of different nutrient sources, immediately. Then the super fine texture has to help with break down/absorption too.

I agree that top dressing some worm castings or compost with the dry fertilizer would be extra effective.

He made this thread a month ago though. So he's on more like week 7 now.
