I do a 24/0 for at least one month after germination. As soon as I see the water leaves show I consider it veg state.

BTW you'll get a high % of F like this too. :bigjoint:

everything i have ever read says 24/0 produces more males, while 18/6 produces more females... one of the many factors such as humidity, heat, types of nutes etc that determine the plants sex..

so dose a longer/shorter veg determine greater/weaker potency?
Not necessarily. But, the veg stage is designed for growth, not budding. If you planning on putting the plant into flowering early (12/12), do not expect a lot of "stash". Leaving in veg longer will only promote a better turnout, however there are a few strains that react negatively when veg'ing for too long.

You have to experience it I guess. All I know is if you use a warm flouro and a soft flouro right on top of the leaves moving them up daily, you will get more girls. That's a fact jack! My last grow was 9 beans, 9 girls. This grow is a 12/12 from seed and don't really like it because of the M to F ratio.

Prior to that I've grown maybe 5 other times and always the same result. I have not grown a male until I began this 12/12 from seed. Take it for what it is worth. Just have to try it.

light dont produce males or females, it genetics.
I have to call bullshit on that one. Send me a bean that you think is a M and I'll make it a F. I don't believe that and never will as long as I am doing it the way I've always done it. Maybe I've been 'lucky' ? 50 beans, 50 girls. No bullshit. Try it for yourself and see.
