when watering, do you water all the soil or just around the stem?

i didn't really ask myself this question before because ive just moved from 2ltr pots to 7.5ltr.

anyway, now they are in 7.5ltr, it seems a bit of a waset of water and nutes and molasses to water towards the sides where there are no roots to drink it, so i imagine the nutes just sit there and build up?

ive been watering each plant with 1 litre each around the stem, and i will do this once every 2 days. although water doesn't seem to drip from the bottom with this amount, which is usually my comfort zone for knowing they have been fed enough.

so what do you do?, do you wet every part of the soil in your pots or just the centre?

thanks

I'll start from the center and work my way out. If u wait till the soil dries on top, and water the sides it seems to just run down the sides of the pot and out the drainage holes in the bottom. water somewhat slowly letting the water seep into the soil. I use 16oz dixie cups 1 at a time till i get just a timy bit of drainage.

Flood the top and let it all work down evenly.

(it really doesn't matter. But make sure you are breathing in and out instead of out and in when you do water)

You've got to get everywhere wet, that's why roots spread out to collect enough water from a large area. That didn't make much sense but i'm sure you get what i mean :joint:

Water all the dirt, really saturate it well, this will force the roots to branch out in search of water when the soil dries up. A key element to plant health is letting the soil dry up.

Pics. But the fact that you think it could be heat stress, get the temps under control. I've found temps is pretty critical boost from growing to thriving.

Watering every other day? Sounds often, but need more info.

MG soil?
Nutes/ferts?
plant size?
Pot size?
anything added to the soil prior to planting?
