When will my buds start showing some weight?

Hello all. I posted here a while back about the trainwreck Ive got growing. They are now in 5th week of flowering and showing pistils, but the buds are so small for the amount of time they have been flowering. Are they ever gowing to start beefing up any time soon? Considering they are supposed to be finishing in another 3 weeks this doesnt look good. Dont think I will be growing this strain again.

Ive got them growing in a 2 x 2 x 5 ft. cabinet under a 250w HPS. They look healthy enough just small buds throughout and I cant really see them adding so much more weight in 3 weeks?

your only using a 250w setup....so essentially you need a bigger light next time if you want more yield, not to mention the pot your growing in must be a good size container, like a 5 gal container and a 400w or 600w setup..you will see greater yields this way,it will depend on the amount of space your working with and what you can do in your situation.

5th week of flowering and just showing pistils? id say thats more like the 2nd week, have you had any light leaks or been messing with their darkness period? put a pic up

Here is a pic of my plant at 6 weeks flowering. Do the buds look of a similar size? I expect the buds to double or triple in size in the next 3 - 4 weeks.

You need more light a 250w just wont cut it maybe put a 400w over them as well,, your buds look well smal for how long thay been flowering what you feeding em how big are your pots?

A friend of mine had this issue and looked into a . dark time at the end of his grow 3 days no light only warmth once the plant was covered in crystals buds start to swell supposedly. But sounds like your plant hasn't caught up with the light cycle change. Enough. Just be patient. You will know when it's done.

i dont think its the 250w hps guys cause theres a dude in the harvest section of the forums using a 150w hps and his plants look fucking awesome... im using a 250w hps and i dont see a problem with flowering times or lack of size of the buds i credit my lack of yeild to experience and i know once i get better the 250w hps will be just fine the person i recieved my 250w hps from was getting a little over an ounce per plant and my first harvest was about half an ounce like i said i credit that to my lack of experience with nutes and plants in general.. so i dont think its his light.. obviously a 400 or 600 would be ideal but people work with what they have you know?

they should put on weight when all the calyxes swell up nicely. i wouldnt listen to what the breeder says is the flowering time. its normally a week or two or more longer. i would just wait till the trichs turn amber a bit. everyone has their own preference.

Thanks for all your comments guys. I dont think its the 250w HPS setup myself, considering the small size of my grow area Im getting the same lumens per square foot as if I was using a 400w lamp. No, I think its just the genetics of this damn strain. Wont be growing them again. They look healthy enough and they are showing loads of white pistils, but everything is just soo tiny for how long theyve been growing. I grow in soil in 11" pots, and Ive grown various other strains in the past with great success. This is the first time Ive come across a problem like this.:-(

I was growing a freebie a couple of batches ago that had similar problems. The thing ended up flowering 12 weeks and the buds were giant. It wasn't even finished after the 12 weeks. I just got sick of it taking up all that room and cut it. The smoke was really good though.

I agree with you on every point, with the exception of "the pot your (sic) growing in must be a good size container, like a 5 gal container". He has 5 ft. of height available in his flowering area, thus, a 5 gallon pot would be overkill. The consensus seems to be '1 gallon pot for 1 foot of plant', although, Jorge Cervantes says a half gallon pot is sufficient for every foot of plant height. Through my own growing experience, I can say for sure, Jorge is correct.
