when will sprout?

hey i have germinated a seed and put it in soil, i have a 600 over it . i was just wondering when is she spose to come up through the soil n start. and well it hasnt sprouted yet do i keep lights on 24/7?

any1??? n e suggestions?

Personally, from my modest experience, it took three-four days for the seedlings to rise from the soil. I've learned from RIU that seedlings only require about 700 lumens per square foot, so keeping with a lower output light at the beginning wouldn't hurt things, also, with an hps or mh you run the risk of drying out the soil rather quickly...remember, seeds need their medium to be kept moist at all times.
