When you guys are looking at the trichs to determine if it's ready...

Do you look at the leaves or the buds? For example: If I look at my leaves, they're about 50% cloudy, 40% amber and 10% clear. When I look at the buds, they're maybe 80% cloudy, 15% clear and under 5% amber. So is it better to just focus on the bud-trichs and ignore the leaves?
Another question: Before you harvest; do you wait long enough that there isn't any new growth at all? Or is it normal that it keeps getting some fresh growth, even though you're within the optimal harvest-window?

There is a thread some where that shows the trichomes and what they should look like when you harvest. You can't just go by the months or weeks.MB

That's not my point at all... I know what the trichs should look like and i'm not asking for any amount of time here. I mean that when you look at them, do you usually determine from the trichs on the buds or the leaves? Seems like the frosty leaf-trichs mature quicker than the bud-trichs.

Yes.. the sugar leave trichomes will mature faster...focus on the buds...the sugar leaves will see trichomes around week 2-3 so naturally those trichs will mature first...but you want mature buds to smoke not necessarily leaves...i harvested when buds were almost all milky bc i knew id have amber sugar leaves and i like energetic highs...i figured it evens out

I was taught go by the trichs on buds not leaves. When the trichs are at your preferred ratio of milky/amber its time to harvest.
Ive noticed theres still gonna be new growth coming in (usually smaller leaves at bottom).
