I think so. How would I know? Here's a pic of the chamber. sorry for big file sizeSo youre saying the heating element heats the entire chamber....is element at 1 end of chamber?

No, it just closely duplicates a combustion type because all the components cook off at once as in combustion. Qualitative vs quantitativeSo higher temps equal stronger high? I read that thought it's counterintuitive, that lower temps are better. I thought the high was mellower than when i smoke it. the weed now is so strong that when I smoke the conventional way I am just too high after 2 or 3 hits. This was a much mellower high and much gentler on my throat. Cant do the smoke lately.
Hmm I would say it prolly cooks it all lol. I think you are right about that...even if the element is based at the bottom the shape if the chamber looks as ifit would cook it all in one sitting. Maybe you would just layer the bottom only lightly at desired temp.I think so. How would I know? Here's a pic of the chamber. sorry for big file size

Holy shit. is there a "nicely baked" section on that chart? I don't even know how to read that LOL. Unless the bottom 3 are what to shoot for. They're the only sections that say smoke/vapor
Ok, now we're getting somewhere. No matter what the amount I pack in, when I dump out it is all uniformly brow. Not ashy or black. Looks almost like tobacco before smoked. but there are not spots of green or black. all uniform color. So I assumed that meant it was cooking the whole batch.I have a few, both portable and a desktop. Sometimes I'll start at low temp and work higher just for a diff experience; sometimes not. However if the duff (cooked herb) is brown and not ashey it's true vaping. Any ashey is combustion

sounds totally completed. Guess I'll just have to experiment. I have been though. Watched most of the 3rd season of the Flintstones while grinding, packing, drying, vaping, dumping it out and trying it again. There is just SO much info out there.Like SM said..he finds diff temps, diff high. Some variables as well with diff strains
Nice, then it is doing c&c. You can save the duff for edibles lol. Someone here said that so I threw in a couple tablespoons of duff into a beef stew and got pretty fucked upOk, now we're getting somewhere. I specifically choose this one b/c reviewers and manual say you can load whatever amount you choose into it. but I just wasn't sure b/c other sites say to pack the whole chamber firmly full.
seriously? duff meaning the remnants after vaping it? I'd totally do that. put it into some of my killer chic and dumplings. did you put 2T into the whole batch of stew or just your serving?Nice, then it is doing c&c. Truth, I made a 2 portion batch. So I got high twice and I was surprised the first mealseriously? duff meaning the remnants after vaping it? I'd totally do that. put it into some of my killer chic and dumplings. did you put 2T into the whole batch of stew or just your serving?
PS I bet you're totally pulling my leg.
cool. I love edibles. I'm trying it.Truth, I made a 2 portion batch. So I got high twice and I was surprised the first meal
I did a lot of looking and comparisons, and if you have the $ the Crafty appears to be the caddy of the portables. It's in the $300^ price range. Too much for what I need but all reviewers loved this one and gave it top marks.i was a long time joint smoker for decades but was getting wheezy from it and had to switch to a vape (Pax ver 1 and a Volcano). took some getting used to and the Pax is a PITA to keep clean but i like the stealth aspect of it. only three settings on this earlier version but the highest is too "hot' for my throat so i stick with the middle setting. i've been talking about getting a new portable, maybe a Crafty or Mighty, but so many to choose from now. i toss the duff but never tried to use it for anything else
LOL I was waiting for that. Can't help it, smoke's killing my throat and I'm running out of edibles. BTW when reading reviews, it seemed really important to these guys to blow out a "nice sized cloud." I think it's a penis thing.
funny comparison!

Vaping is effectively distillation: different compounds come off at diff temps. So at lower temps you get cook off the higher volatile THCs, esters and then different ones as you raise temp. The high can be influenced by this( which is one reason some folks say the high is different than smoking). If you vape at the higher temps most of the compounds cook off at the same time so the high is closer to "normal" but without combustion products.
Don't overload it as the taste will blow if you co back later to finish it. Keep it very clean, taste and coil life
