In all the years I've been growing I have never had an issue doing exactly what I did in that video
Only problem would be if someone is a dolt and ends up manhandling the sprouted seed

If you're forgetting about seeds you're germinating then you're a dolt
So if you watch episode 2 where I drain off the excess water in the bowl you will notice I touch upon that subject ... either tomorrow or the next day the sprouted seeds get transplanted into cups with pro mix and wil be left to do their thingoh and if you forget them they will rot or drown being covered like that

One of the reasons I don't plant directly into a medium and instead use that paper towel deal is due to when you end up having to water the soil you put the seed in sometimes the damn seed will shift position on you because it has nothing anchoring it down ... Letting the seed sprout in paper towel lets me place it into the soil with a head start and when I end up having to water again normally the seed has already sprouted and it has an anchor to hold it in place
