Funny thing dude I was just googling this about 5 minutes ago I think I have a couple sources here...
If you are trying to do a setup like me I got this all together:
If you are going heavy duty go with a "4-light adapter". They sell them at home depot for 39 bucks. Or the ghetto set up which works real good if you have an attic setup. I used 3 extention cords with a female end that had two plug in spots on both sides so that you can plug in these nifty things "called outlet-to-socket lights" for 2 bucks. I ended up getting 6 of 'em so that I have 3 set ups with 2 lights on each side. I hear that when the plants are young they can go with a 23watt CFL (1600lumens, 100watt incandescent equivalent 6500kelvin). I also have 2 18" cool white fluorescent tubes (725 lumens, 4100 Kelvin). The plants are growing beautiful and I keep sayin I am gonna get pics up.
Anyways. The plug in sockets are completely safe as long as you keep it to a 2 per extention. If you have a heavy duty orange extension cord or one like it you can hook up an adapter plug and you can set up at least 4 of those two sided extentions cause the CFLs are low watt and amp i guess. I don't know if I help you any or just babbled you to death but just check out the home depot and search the "quoted" searches above.
luck to ya though...
