If its CFL's you have, you can goto any home improvement store and pick up a metal deflector for under 5 bucks each (the round ones with a switch). If its actual tubes I saw our walmart had the actual balast with 3 prong plug kinda nice for I think 12.95 takes two bulbs. IF you are looking for a cheap MH and HPS system search ebay for those words, there is a guy on there I bought mine from, I paid 125 and got the balast, reflector, mh bulb, and hps conversion bulb. He has high feedback and ships nice. I think his company is indoor sun or something, been awhile so can't remeber. Good luck though =)

Yeah.. you can find the bulbs for 20 bucks... but what costs is the ballast that runs the bulb, and whatever reflector.

you're going to have a hard time getting a 250w fixture that does both MH and HPS, keep us posted if you have any luck

it doesn't have 2 do both - just HPS is good - and it doesnt have 2 be a fixture - i just need a way to use a HPS bulb with at least 250w for under $50

OR . . . . .are there any other types of grow lights (florescant maybe) that will work throughout the vegetative andflowering stages????

P.S. will two of these work if i make my own reflector and such????

Why, because an hps light requires a ballast 1st of all. stop looking for the cheapest way out, and look for an inexpensive, suitable solution. Such a solution would be a 400 watt hps light, for slightly more than $100.00, you buy that once and your all set.

i can't spend that much

i need a light that i can hook up 2 a household fixture or another type of fixture for less than $50 - otherwise i might not be able 2 grow
