After reading these forums and Matt rize's post on his methods among many other methods, I took it upon my self to create some bubble hash.
I bought 8 bags and 4x 5 gallon buckets
My product was Dutch treat shake at a dispensary that was selling shake for 60$ an ounce. I know this sounds a bit low but I thought I would try out something affordable before I go blow a shit load of money on higher quality product that is not shake.
Here is a quick list of what I used in the process
4 gallons of glacier RO water
1 bag of Reddyice (store bought) I know this is a cardinal sin, but I looked into this brand and they claim RO ice. Also the ice it self is not milky, but clear and see through.
2 ounces of Dutch treat shake 120$ total
8 bags
3 curing jars
1 microplaner
1 silk screen
I started off by putting my shake in the freezer to bring it to a cold level for about 12 hours.
With 8 bags in one of the 5 gallon buckets, I poured ice/shake/ice/shake/ice and then proceeded to fill the bucket about 3-4 inchs from the top of the ice level. I let it sit for about 20 minutes before I began my agitation process on my first batch which was for 2 minutes, the water was a nice light brown and after I drained all of it I got my yield from my 90,73,45,25 bags. I then did another run very shortly after and agitated for 5 minutes, I removed about 3 bags the second time around just to speed up the process of getting to the 90,73,45.
I put what I collected on a 25 micron sheet with a towel underneath, which I then covered with a silk screen and let dry for about 12 hours.
After that I broke up my different grades of material with the microplaner (this part confused me because it felt sand like almost throughout the whole 12 hours as if it instantly dried up) After I broke it up I put them in seperate jars to cure.
This is where I am confused, everytime I try to go and smoke it through dabbing, it just burns instead of melting, it turns black as char and does not do anything when it hits my nail. Can someone please explain to me where I went wrong? do I have hash on my hands that I can sprinkle on bowls instead of a full melt crumble? should I let it cure in the jars for several weeks? I have read that you can smoke it 48 hours after.
I jarred them on the 8th
it is now the 10th
Obviously they can be cured for a much longer time then two days but I am just confused with the testing process which I have seen Matt do, where he smokes some of the finished product shortly after to test it for water.
Thanks for any help and consider me a novice in this whole field, this was my first attempt at a run.
