i have two clones with asymmetrical/ alternating nodes and was wondering if these shoots would come up if i topped them here. im cutting them a bit short, and im also cutting closer to the node than the yellow line is. IMG_5749.JPG IMG_5750.JPG

I dont see it being beneficial since it will grow to be the exact same as it is in the pictures before being cut. Whats the reason for topping it?
I had a run of clones I couldnt top due to the node structure pretty much just like yours. Topping to "double" my number of top colas wasnt going to work on clones with this node structure like it does on a plant from seed. It would be good for height control, but thats about it. If you are trying to get clones from a clone you should wait til the clones get a bit taller with at least 4-5 nodes.

yeah i was going to top to make more than one main cola, you dont think its worth it?

Its going to grow the exact same as it is now before cutting it. You will just be making your cutting smaller and take longer to get where it needs to be to flower. When the nodes alternate the way they are in your pic, you cant "double" your tops by cutting. This works best from seed. Lots of plants do what yours is doing after being cloned out so much over time.

This is what I mean by topped from seed. The top nodes turn into main colas like what you are wanting to do.
