I move around constantly... don't really have a desk set up right now... got my PC set up "on" the piano so I can look up chords and play songs...

I mostly post from my lappy, which I move constantly... right now I am enjoying the first wonderfully warm spring day that has broken 70... so I am out on the sun porch with the windows open. :) #ageeksideaofoutside ;)

Lol pianoaments. I call this spot the cockpit. It's where I'm usually at when I'm on RIU. I make up songs or play other people's music in between rants here, and flip between games for amusement.

Nice, bro. :) I would have it set up like that too but I have an old upright piano... so I got the monitor on the lip where you rest books, lol. Definitely troll from there sometimes too, but mostly the lappy. :) What do you like to play? I've only been playing a few months but I'm coming along. Got experience on other instruments, but piano is new. Just starting to get more comfortable varying my chords and stuff now. Still don't quite have the whole "play lead with one hand while the other does rhythm" thing down, but getting closer.

Thanks. I'm getting myself an upright for Christmas, and if I get really really good on it I'll get a bigger house that can fit an S&S grand piano. I've only been playing a little over a year or so, but I practice a ton of hours so I probably have the skill level of around 3 years or so. Decent.
I like to play everything, but classical is the most fun because it's harder. I love the nocturnes, Chopin makes me happy. The first song I learned to play was Linus & Lucy. That will get your hands working together. =)

Scary bro, classical. ;) I play rock songs, lol. Because I'm a guitarist first. I would love to learn classical. I just don't know how to get started because... honestly I can't even read sheet music. :) I am an ear-player. So I'm terrified of complex pieces. BUT... if you have recommendations for a piece that might be easy to learn to read sheet music on I'll give it a try. ;) Going to look up Linus & Lucy, I don't know that song...

I've been enjoying playing covers of Billy Joel songs (no where near his skill piano wise but I can fake it with the chord sheet) and all sorts of other stuff... Desperado! :D

Edit: Oh, it's the peanuts them? Fucking cool. LOL. *listening* sounds like it could get me going like you said... hmmm. Maybe I'll find some sheets for it...

Edit again: +Rep for being a fellow piano computer hybridizer ;)

If you play guitar you're familiar with tablature, no? For piano it's sort of similar, except with a synthesizer program so you can learn to play without learning to read music.
I am 100% internet taught. I learned to read music from a piano tutorial on youtube, I learn a lot of songs there too. Search youtube for any song you want to learn but add 'piano tutorial' after the song title, then scroll to the synth ones.
