Where have you traveled and what was it like?

I've been to 11 states and 2 countries, besides the US, I've been to Mexico

I'd say the best state I've been to is the one I live in, California. The weather is always pretty nice, even in winter, the coldest it gets is around 35F at night in the winter. The last time it snowed was 24 years ago. It gets pretty hot during the summer, but it's usually bearable. The hottest it gets is around 110F, normally the temperatures stay between 65F-80F, pretty ideal.

Worst state is probably Iowa, nothing but farmland and cornfields, the whole time I was there the place just looked isolated and lonely.

Most of the Midwest was pretty cold and a little too country for my taste.

Mexico was pretty much what I expected, makes you appreciate the luxuries America provides that you tend to take for granted.

I'd like to visit Australia, Japan, Hawaii, the UK and Europe. Africa and most of Asia and the Middle East and South America I'd like to avoid. The Caribbean looks pretty cool, Bahamas, Jamaica, Costa Rica

Nice dirtyho! I'd love to be all those places, just for the experience, but holy fuck! do I hate actually going there... Getting there is soooooo painful for me! Days and days of travel... it's tough! I once spent 28 or so hours driving from California to Arkansas. I totally underwhelmed it! I had no idea the US was so big until I drove halfway across it, Texas alone took a full day to get across! Took 8 hours just to get out of California!

Driving from Texas to Arkansas through the Ozarks was fucking torture! Forest... forest, trees, more trees, holy shit, even more trees! A bridge, more forest, even more trees... are we there yet? Wow, even MORE trees! What the fuck is that sound? (loud chirping). Some bug that comes out in the fall and sheds its shell and it sticks to the trees, its chirping sounds like locusts, LOUD AS FUCK, you can hear that shit through closed windows! It's huge too! Flies, and looks like a fat grasshopper or something, I'm not sure what it's called.. Arkansas, Oklahoma was pretty brutal, it snowed within a couple months, too.

Wisconsin seemed much more up to date comparatively (we drove by a sign of a town called 'Ratcliff' on the way out of Arkansas..). Victorian architecture, no southern draw in peoples voice, rainy, cold but pretty much normal weather. Hardees! That was one of the weird things I remember, we have the exact same restaurant out here but it's called 'Carl's Jr.', same menu and everything..

I was there back in 2005..Second command i ever went to....Its just so blah there imo. I was only there for 6 months. Did security detail there on the Nuclear Subs and missiles. Loved the job, just not the location. I was Honorably Discharged in 2010. Miss the military like crazy. Loved what i did and would do it the rest of my life. But i have a son now and its hard imo to be a good dad and a good soldier. So i didnt re-enlist. I was a 1st class petty officer, or e-6 in enlisted marks....How did you like being a Navy brat????

ok that explains it all.. Groton went to crap in the 90's it's all indian casino's now..

I loved being a navy brat. I worked on base since age 16 at the CPO club and the Navy Exchange, the commissary, the deli.
Back then there were a ton of nuke demonstrators at the entrance of the gate and it was pretty hectic walking in there.

Dad was a Crypto tech and was not on the subs much but he did have to leave a few times a year to teach. he was not home much but at that time it was for the best gave me and my brother freedom to run.. We lived in Navy housing and I tell you.. I miss that the most... the community was just awesome.

I almost enlisted just had to take the MEPS test and a few other items and I was gone... got a call from a local hospital I put in a app for about 6 months ago and never heard anything from them till weeks away from the final tests. took that as a sign not to join
