Right on. It's nice to hear others into working out. I got up to 230 and like 10% body fat tore my pec benchin 465 in dec of 12 got it surgically reattached to my humerus but it didn't take at the MT junction. Gnarley scar. I'm back at it though I one rep maxed a month or so ago at 390 on bench. I'm shooting for 405 before the end of the year. My dead lift is 540 and squats I did 405 for 4 a few weeks ago. The fourth one was a little shady I barely hit parallel but the first three were well below. I love to back pack also. Hiking trails etc. anything outdoors in the bees knees lol
Ummm, right now I lift a 40 bar with wooden "dummy weights" attached b/c I'm just learning. LOL (yes it's embarrassing, but I'm determined to learn)

540??? I would be scurd of you at my gym…I don't know what my maximum dead lift would even be. I only weigh 120 lbs. and I'm 5' 8". Not sure what my body fat is, but it's pretty low. Just want to increase strength. Maybe I'm in the wrong thread. You guys are hard core.

you know what's embarrassing? i was in 9th grade i think, in gym class, i had 2 45's on the 45 pound bar. i got it up, than my one arm gave out, weights fell to the floor on that side, than of course that side went all light, and the weighted side came crashing down, and then the weights fell off of that side too... :D
my first and last experience lifting weights, i'm a lover, not a fighter.. :D

DUDE! that dog is massive! (name?)

Gentle giant? (great dane part) or a bit scary? (mastiff part) They should call them bull massives. How does he even fit into your tub anyway? Because of his breed does he have a shorter than normal expected life span?

yes, usually the bigger the dog breed, the shorter the life span hooka. i know full breed great danes only have a life expectancy of about 8 years or so, which is very short for a dog imvho.. :(

raceboy nailed it, 7-9 years. i've seen a healthy dane mastiff mix at 9 years though, mixes live a bit longer, less health problems.

genlt giant, name is walter, runs to the farthest side of the house when he hears the bath start running for him and plays dead.

he is super cute though for sure.. some lady who lives around me has a black full on dane, and that thing is a friggin horse and a half.. i haven't seen her walking him lately though now i'm thinking about it..
my old man also had a dane when he was a teen ager, i've always liked those dogs, but idk if i could handle getting that attached to a pet and having it die that young.. :(
i used to talk to dizzle frost a lot, and he's big into dogs as well, and he was always telling me how modern breeding practices have really screwed the great dane breed by too much inbreeding and all of the issues they tend to have as a result...

I think that's true of most purebred anything nowadays. Even a decade ago when we had our labs, they both had the hip problem (even though guaranteed not to) I think mutts and rescues are more resilient anyway. We did have a purebred border Collie. He was the smartest dog I've ever had. He loved to be out with our horses at all times. Did agility with him too. He's gone now but buried out in our pasture where he loved to lay around.

yup yup, i'm not big on full breed dogs, not that we've ever really had one growing up, but it seems that full breed dogs today all seem to get the worst qualities from the breed..
we have now a lab x hound mix, and omfg, she's the best, she is super smart, and has to be the friendliest thing ever.. she absolutely loves kids, and just people in general.. we won the puppy lottery when we got her from the pound, that's for sure..
our one neighbor said she thinks she's a movie star.. all of the neighbors, and people we don't even know, all know her name and come over to the fence and pet her and bring her dog treats and all.. it's all rather amusing.. we even had this lady who came and knocked on the door and said her husband brought the wrong kind of food, and would we like it.. we were kind of offended as obviously her husband didn't buy the wrong food, it's just that she looks like a lab, but she's not at all fat like a full blown lab, but it skinnier and much more muscular in build..

Some big asshole came over to me Friday with his hand out so I extended mine and introduced myself and he says , "No, take my hand, I'll help you do the box jumps.."

I just said, "nah, thanks, that's okay" and didn't fire off a bitchy retort. But I thought that was sort of a dick move. He could've just asked. AND he didn't even introduce himself, so I looked even douchier for shaking his hand LOL. (fucker)

For me it makes me more determined. However, 90% of the folks there are cool. This guy just wanted to make sure I noticed he's one one of the roosters, ya know…. cock of the walk. Whatever, I don't let that stop me. I don't get intimidated that easily. By anyone.
