Which books to buy to get started?

What are some current books to buy? I've never grown before, grow partner has, but I'd still want a book(s) that go into details on:

Grow room design/setups
The different strains
Something all encompassing (one of the bibles?)

I'd like to get some current books that may go into some detail with Aeroponics, LEDS, T5s, vertical growing, and at least Hydroponics.

why waste your money? all the info you need is right here on the net and the best thing about that is it's FREE. Just google marijuana grow guides

Meh on using just online sources. While there are a lot of things to read, you never know what you can trust online. Honestly, books get vetted, and anyone can post things online.

My best resources have been:

Marijuana Horticulture - Cervantes
Hydroponics Indoor Horticulture - Winterbourne

I also subscribe to Rosebud Magazine, which is helpful....lots of good info in there.

Yes, the boards are awesome, but they're not always great for reference when you have a question in the middle of the night....plus, there are a lot of DBs on these boards. LOL

Good luck with growing!!!

I own and have read both Jorge Cervantes' Indoor/Outdoor Bible and Ed Rosenthal's Bible as well. Both are very good at broad knowledge detailing each stage with numerous pictures from seed/cloning to end product (hash-making, harvesting, etc.). Both will also give specific details about various strains with pictures to boot. Both are lacking in hydroponic information with just one or two chapters devoted to the entirety of hydroponics (aeroponics was part of hydro chapters). LED's, T-5's, and vertical growing (in Rosenthal's book) were mentioned maybe once or twice in either bible.

I've read that Cervantes' published an Indoor Horticulture bible as well but it's crazy expensive for some reason. Honestly from my personal viewpoint one of the bible's coupled with a regular hydroponics book (not exclusively tailored to MJ) would be perfect.

I got the Bible by Greg Green and indoor/outdoor bible by Cervantes. $15-18 each (goodbye Borders)

I go from one grow journal to the next and usually (if I like it) I can't get all the information I'm looking for either in reproducing it or in knowing whether they yielded anything better than the next person in x time. Just kinda running around back and forth reading about new experimental concepts, which I think is what I'll use this forum for eventually... the next big thing, not in any book.

I need the books. I can't bookmark a thousand threads because I literally don't know anything about this and the info is scattered.
