Which breeder has a true Nl #5? For a fair price and it is actual quality

Nirvana's are cheap and feminized so you can grow out more seeds in less time to try to find a good pheno. With all of the conflicting reports of different NLs that I have read, I don't recall any negative comments for nirvana, despite many people not liking them. Have read that Dr Atomic's sometimes hermie, Sensi's is not as good as it used to be, peakseeds and bc not much info on.

Looks like nirvana is a good bet especially if you are on a budget, although I have never personally grown any of them.

Word, looks like I will def be getting some Nirvana Northern Lights, it seems like the majority vote here. Thanks again for all the info!

If you're looking for a close representation of the clone, Atomic is probably a better bet than Nirvana, from what I've read.

The original clones from the 80s are breeding stock for nearly every good strain out there, needless to say they are worth seeking out in seed form :eyesmoke::eyesmoke::eyesmoke:

I just finished the last few vapes of my first go around with peakseedsbc's NL. From their website:

NorthernLights (indoor/outdoor)
Pure Strain
Product code: NL
Type/subspecies*: Mostly indica
Flowering period**: 8-9 weeks indoor
Potency: Strong
Growth Pattern: Medium/short height, stout, uniform, productive branching.
Breeders comment: Couchlock, medicinal-use, low-odor, simple and easy to grow. Classic, original, indoor strain.

And I just germinated two more: 100% germination rate for the two from before and the two now. The latter two have hidden in my refrigerator for two years. Last time they grew pretty identical christmas trees, pretty dense, whose buds dried hard and smoked mellow, not boggling but comfortable, indeed. I think peakseedsbc is a one dude operation, a generous dude. The NL were 10 promotions when I bought 10 skunkberry for 40$.

Hey Timeout, how would you describe the flavor/taste of that NL? Peakseedsbc does have good prices $40 for all 10 pks. & sweet promo. :bigjoint:

Shanti-blah-blah.......you should know by the name he goes by that he's an idiot!!!!
He doesnt look Indian to me!!!! That must mean he thinks he is some kind of breeding guru!!??!!
Nevil and him are just people that make seeds.....no more!!!
It was sacred seeds that had the best strain breeding not the seed bank....sorry nevil!!!!
And who was shanti before greenhouse anyway?????
Just like the white widow.....brazillian sativa/indica hybrid......what brazillian sativa and indica anyway??
I always thought white widow was a northern lights hybrid!
Puctures i've seen from sensi seeds doesnt look like northern light!
I would try dr atomic or bcsc.
Dr atomic crossed an old northern light with sensi northern lights, and possibly another northern light variety to get his, so should be some nl phenos.
Bcsc had awesome nl before.....so even if they dont have same parent material....should still be able to find that pheno.
Highgrade seeds northern lights is not very good representation. It is a healthy vigorious strain like the northern lights( one of the trademarks of this strain super vigorious), but the flavor is too friuty and not enough piney hash dank flavors.

I would stay away from mr. nice....he is a total kook who is stuck on himself and thinks, arrogantly, that he is the only one with original genetics.....he only does this to sell his crappy strains!!!!!

Two things:
One: My personal experience runs contrary to this.
Two: Established facts run contrary to this.

Please tell me your personal experiences that are contrary?
And established facts run contrary to what.....i bring up a few points?

Racerboy....appreciate the scarcasm........but why do they never list info about white widow's parental material.....except brazillian sativa/indica hybrid? SSH their attempt to compete with jack herer line.
Sorry just never liked shanti.....dont think he is that good of a breeder.....just cause he has a seed co.
Most commercial breeders are just like commercial growers........GREEDY!!!!!!
That already taints them!!!!!
Do you truly understand how greedy these commercial seed co.'s are??!!?? Ten seeds for $100 or more!!!!!?????!!!!!
You can get a thousand seeds from a relatively small plant......thats a $100,000 dollars from one small plant!!!!!
Thats just a total ass fuck.....arrogant breeders like shanti, and other act like they somehow are worth this price for unstable weak genetics that most pilford from other and put their name to it!!!
How bout Kyle Kushman who takes credit for the strawberry cough when he took it from his friend who crossed strawberry fiels with haze. He never even credits his friend!! All a bunch of self centered greedy rip offs!
Shit for those astronomical prices you think i would get ten seeds that were pretty much identicle!!

I really don't know who has the best NL5 at the moment. I do know that I did not like Nirvanas NL that much. I grew it a grew crops ago. I grew mainly NL from 1996 to 2004. My favorites where BCSC and Dr. Atomics. British Columbia Seed Co. had pure NL5 and Dr. Atomics was the NL5 X Blueberry, now he calls it Blueberry Jam. I prefer the original cross vs the Jam.

I woiuld look for a BC company for the NL strains.

Thanks, she's really great! still takes longer than any pure NL, of course.
In fact my very first seed I put in soil after a break 2 years ago, even had to revegg her, as we knew nothing and didn't even take clones :-o
Only a pure landrace sativa from a jamaican we had a few years ago could catch up..unfortunately she's gone forever, as we even knew less.

The smell on the stalk doesn't compare to the only others I can compare it to--Jock Horror, Skunkberry, and Short Rider--not as rich. But its a mellower, more contemplative buzz.

seen a few posts on HGS nl#5, ran it myself a few years back, no complaints
the pheno i got was piney/hashy in taste, pretty low smell, great yielder(for a micro setup)
the 1st few times smoking it were a little on the intense side for me
tremendous head rush which kind of left me white knuckling onto my chair for the 1st half hour
excellent indica feel after for a good 3+ hours, but like all seed projects, it's a crap shoot
