Which deficiency would that be...N, MG or anything else? Help in the middle of flowering!

Hi fellow growers,

Pics show 2 plants - Auto Jack Herer and Auto White Widow.
Grown indoor with soiless potting mix, worm compost, volcanic rocks, volcanic rock dust, perlite and compost - Led lighting. Nutes added on week 5.

These were taken in the 2nd week of flowering (i am now in the 4th flowering week) and i have lost some big old fan leaves along the way. While this is normal towards the end of flowering, this was way too early for my plants in my opinion - The Jack has now lost around 10 leaves and the WW around 5.

Both planted same time.

The buds on the WW are significantly fatter than the one on the JH - Latter looks like its 10 days behind, while in fact, they popped out with 12 hours difference!

The yellowing was moving fast at first - I started a bit of Epsom salt treatment about 10 days ago and it seems to have slowed down the yellowing but it still carries on, just slower. I also started CalMag about 5 days ago and no noticeable change so far yet.

Could it be N def in the middle of flowering? Would that be MG def even if stems are not purple ish?

Any opinion would be much appreciated - Harvest will be around 05 Feb so i need to make the most of it and maximise what i can during this time.

Thanks so much!

Nitrogen deficiency shows starting at the bottom and working it's way up. That seems to be the case here.

Id be concerned with pH. You may want a soil test to see whats going on in there pH wise.

When you say nutes added week 5, what nutes and what PPM? Do you add every watering?

The plant looks starved.

Some new pictures would be helpful to compare to the 2 week old pics.
Million thanks for your input.

i always ph my water at about 6.5 before watering so i just did a soil test and for the JH, PH varies between 6.8 - 7, the WW sits at 6.5.

Pics shows the plants yesterday, looks as if the JH is starting to put on some bud weight but yellowing still there and moving up but seems slower now. This is also what i use as nutes...i added the grow nute for 2 weeks to support the stretching (my soil was quite rich so didnt need it before) then switched to bloom. I add nutes every other watering at recommended doses on bottle, which is 2ml/ litre + i add the BM which are beneficial microbes (0.2 g / litre).

Last 10 days ive been adding a bit of cal-mag as well.

Plants will be 80 days from sprout on 4 Feb so at the end of its life, so 2 weeks to go and i really need the JH to catch up with the WW in terms of bud thickness!

thanks for your help!

I think you figured it out. The WW (doing good) had a soil pH of 6.5 (awesome). The others were a bit high. Sometimes I compensate just by watering a little low and letting them find a happy middle at 6.5.

Cool, next watering tomorrow ill ph at 6 before putting in - i'll monitor and keep you posted on harvest!

Many thanks!

Imo it appears as though your plants are too tall for your lighting power coupled with a possible under feeding issue.
Thanks for the feedback!

What do you mean by too tall for my lighting power? How do i control that?

BTW, that's my first grow under those lights and i did notice that the plants are taller this time than my previous grows!
But that could be also due to increased pot size from previous grows.

This PDF shows which light i am using.

Those lights are pretty weak. They may be ok for seedlings and vegging small cuttings really close to the light but thats about it.

When lighting is weak the plants stretch and get leggy. Has nothing to do with pot size.
MMM, check the pdf i just uploaded to Jondamon post - You think thats too weak?

I still have my previous 300W full spectrum led from mastergrow in my store, you think i should add this one as well in there until completion??

You probably could have scrogged under this light to make better use of it.

But ultimately it’s lacking in power.

You have more plant material on your plants with an under powered light than I have under a 400w HID system.

See how a lot of lower growth has been removed and you can see how I’ve trained my plant to grow a specific way to maximise its potential in the lighting footprint.

This 400w HID setup gives me approx 18-24” of penetration power.

So I train to get top flowering sites Basking in the footprint of my light to maximise potential etc.

Are these autos?

I do top and lst my normal photos - They are outdoors and no worries with them apart from the fight with the bugs.

Indoor i grow autos (to keep my stash full lol) and i never really tried training them - I am scared of messing around with autos.
One mistake and they reward you with shit yield...i learnt the hard way!

You can still LST autos and super crop them.
