Which HLG light for 32”wide x 32”tall, 21”depth box?

based on all the reading I’ve done on PPFD/par and all that stuff the hlg65 should be fine between 12-18 inches, little higher during veg little lower during flower ...this is with a dimmer

Yeah, but 18" is half your tent height ... add 4 to 6 inches to hang the light ... you have 1 foot total for your pot and plant. Thats not ideal. If you can get as close as Airwalker suggests than sure. That's a different story.

32" tall?! Dude, you gotta post pics of your grow. Our grow box is 20"x30" as well, but its 6 ft tall.

Wouldn't fluorescent tubes maximize your available grow height? As I understand it, plants can grow right up to them and won't burn unless they actually touch the bulb.

Since were all here, anyone want to help me diagnose what’s going on with my plant currently

Fed for the first time about 5 days ago, only at 1/8th strength. fox farms grow big and big bloom, just like the schedule says for late veg. I can’t tell if the nutes are causing the wilting, or if it’s a lack of nutes, or if it just needs a transplant? Been in that 3 gallon pot for a little while now. But the transplant wouldn’t explain the yellowing of the lower leaves? Idk im a newbie trying to learn

I wish I was in a position to help but I'm a noob too. But I know youre gonna have to give more details of your grow because no one wants to give wrong advice due to missing puzzle pieces. Temp, Rh, growing medium, and more. Search and read the forums, see what other stealth growers did. You'll learn fast. But not fast enough to avoid mistakes.

Anyway, I can tell you that in my grow, soiless (promix hp) in 4gal bucket, tap water, yellow tips on low leaves and 5 days since last feed and water would make me think she's a-hungry.

Cheers
ps start a grow journal, i'll come along for the ride. (:

The 65W is not dimmable and will cook your plants at that height. They do sell a dimmer switch tho on the Amazon page look for HLG 65 accessories. I need to grab one of those.

But if you are flowering in that space you want at least 120W. the problem is height will be an issue to get good coverage u need to be 18-24" off the top of canopy.

I personally would just get the 4pack of QB132 v2 for $132. Would be awesome coverage in your space and you would be running them softer, making them more efficient and also letting you keep them only a few inches off your tops.

You wont need heatsinks with those so u can mount them pretty close to top of your space. Then get the recommended driver on that page the HLG-185H-C1400. I would get the B version so u can dim a little as needed. That way you have what you need now but you can upgrade the driver later if you get a bigger space. You can run up to 300ish watts total through those boards.
He doesn't want to build a kit though is the deal. I was talking to him earlier. If I was in his position and didn't want to build shit, I'd get 2 65's and 2 dimmers and call it a day. I just found out about the ability to dim the 65 earlier today. Personally I love the idea of the 132's though. I've almost gotten weak and bought them a few times already. I have an HLG addiction, lol.

light came today ..I have it about 16” from the tops of the plants and it’s dimmed to roughly 50-60% (my estimate)

hope it’s at a good distance/intensity

including 2 23w 6500k CFLs for some more blue spectrum, figured an extra 3200 lumens can’t hurt ..ill swap them out with 2700k come flower time

Awesome man. Keep us informed. It can be a little bit of a shock to them when changing to a more powerful light at first.

So I have a v65 in my 2x4x5 tent as supplemental lighting and I just don't think you have the height in that little tent ... that little light is intense. If I get too close to my plants its starts bleaching the tops.

Probably not a super popular opinion, but I'd just rock a 4 tube t5 in that space. I run one in my clone tent thats a similar size, I could see flowering a couple small plants in there. Thats the only way to maximize your height because the plants can almost touch the bulbs. Anything else and once you factor in hanging space and pot height ... you just won't have any room for the plants.

how high do you hang your light above your plants?

update ..day 6 of 12/12, plants are stretching like crazy. hlg 65 is now 14-15” above canopy at 75% and they seem to like it, hoping they’ll take 100% once the buds start

also 4 23w 2700k CFLs

Looking good. If you wanna control the stretch a little, look up negative temperature differential. Warmer temps in the dark cycle, or at least not colder at night. It really does help.
