Which Light-Hangers to use?

I am currently using Blockbuster reflectors, hung using regular jack chain and hooks.
However, i've really been needing/wanting to get some light-hangers.
The appeal of more easily lowering/raising the reflector, makes it a must for me.

From what I gather, I have a few different basic options:

-SunGrip light-hangers
-SunLift original light-hangers
-Grow YoYo
-Other (im open to other suggestions).

Now from what I understand, many people have been using and praising the SunGrip hangers lately, and have stopped using the SunLift original hangers... But why is this? The SunGrip requires you to reach up above the reflector to pull the cord when you want to raise/lower the light, whereas the original SunLift hangers make it so easy that all you have to do is push your reflector up or pull your reflector down and it stays in place.. Correct? So why have people stopped using these, and began to praise the SunGrip hangers? As for the Grow YoYo, Im assuming its similar to the original SunLift, but I dont know the difference.

Anyway, what do you all suggest I use? and why?
Why wouldnt everybody be using the original SunLift?

I would go with rope ratchets, just the generic brand they sell at your local hydroponic store will do wonders. I prefer them over grow yoyos, easy to adjust and easy to setup. They are also strong and long lasting.

irieie, Why do you say YoYos are a pain? like the original SunLift type..?
Again, it seems like they would be amazing, so why dont more people prefer them?
I just think the SunGrips defeat the purpose cuz u still gotta reach above the reflector to adjust..

yo-yo hangers suck . If your hood has a little weight to it , the yo-yo hanger has been known to drift down and fal on your plants. I say to stay with the jack chains and have piece of mind that they lights won't fall by accident. They are not that bad to adjust by hand.

Yea, true.. I just hate having to bring the ladder out and climb up and dangerously try and adjust it from above manually. Especially by myself. And even moreso with fully grown plants in the way.

As far as the YoYo type of hangers like the original SunLift, you said they've been known to slowly drift down and fall on your plants... But isnt that what the little adjuster wingbolts are for? Couldn't you just tighten it up alot?

Wouldn't that eliminate that issue? I dont know how the mechanism works, but all I care about is raising it..

So again, with that said, would they be reliable?

I use rachet straps from the automotive store they will hold a couple hundred pounds each they adjust easy and you don't need to worry about the weight of your light breaking them

this is why. the sun grips or that type do not slip.

I've tried two different brands and went back to chains. Something about measuring by links appeals to me, and I won't have a chain fail due to mechanical operation or worn nylon etc.
