which light should I start vegging with 1st?

Hey everyone. I have a tent that is 48x24x60. I need to buy a light still. I was wanting to know if I should by a T5 light too start seedlings and start vegging under. Then buy a 400 watt mh/hps for later vegging and flowering. Or should I just buy the 400 watt light and start using it from day 1? The 400 watt light will be dimmable.

get the 400 watt dim/dig ballast, and a good reflector. u can grow a nice 4x4 sog under that 400.just dim it to 50% with seedlings then up to 100% for vegging, then switch bulb from mh to hps to flower..but id recomend getting 2 rooms, 1 for clones and veg and another for flowering plants for a nice perpetual growing cycles.. t5s are great for clones but the mh is way better for veg stage,more power,bigger square foot coverage..grow well

get the hps. use mh for veg, hps for flower. cut the mh to half power for early veg, its too strong

If you're going to get an hid eventually, you, might as well start under one. You shouldnt ever have to worry if your plants are getting enough light either.

I'd think about where you want to end up. I root- start seedlings ect under a T5. Depending on space this can run with a 12 inch oscilating fan and not over heat the area. But I have more than one area going at a time so I want my HID on the large stuff. If this is the only space you plan on using then get the single HID. The reason I say think about where you are going to end is because if you do good you'll be hooked like me. Remember keeping a strain requires a second spot and light.
