Hey i know what to look for when telling sex (balls/hairs) but i have some plants that have been in flowering for a while and i was just wondering which sex tends to show first,,, male or female? Cause some of the plants seem to have pre-flower coming in but too early to tell.
I am running out of space and i need some help, i can post pic soon

they have been in flowering for 16 days, i think some of them are starting to show, so meybe they are the males, that would be good cause only 3 are starting to show out of 7

males will for sure show first... if you veg long enough the males will flower in a 18/6-24 light cycle...at least in my experiance...

Males always show first and they look good but don't be fooled. As soon as you see those sacs say goodbye. And do it now or you will still find a few seeds. Get rid of the boys and pamper the ladies....I do. :blsmoke:

I don't understand why a male would show sex first.. If you think about it wouldn't it make more sense for the part of the flower that accepts the pollen to develop first. So it can already be developed and ready to accept pollen by the time the males are ready? Something I always think about...

Plants have different emotions than animals and humans. Just being a smartass lol But I have seen males pop there balls faster than females during just vegging even sometimes,

No emotions involved here. The female is primarily concerned with creating seeds for the never ending survival of the plant. The males grow faster, bigger, and taller then the females. When you go 12/12 with the lights the males show their sex first. The minute the white hairs show on the ladies the male's sacs explode pollen all over them. :blsmoke:

My experience has been the opposite of many. In every grow, with many different strains, I have seen females first almost every single time.

sometimes females show first,,especially when your growing different strains at the same time,,but if you grow all of the same strain then the males are much more likely to show first and by the time the sacks are mature and ready to pop open the females will be ready to be polinated..peace

The male comes first so you can get rid of it first. I have pulled a bunch of male branches out of my grow now. I think they are turning Hermie due to close proximity to the light. What do you think???
