Harbor Freight sells a loupe set. The highest magnification being 10X which is enough for trichomes. Bugs, you might want more. Also, your phone or a camera on macro setting and zoom could suffice.

Amazon. Buy a 40X lighted scope and buy a 20X jeweler's loupe. You will use that one more. Don't buy anything over 40X at first. I have up to 100X (shakes like Hell and almost impossible to use because of the high magnification). The 40X is used second most, the jewelers loupe the most. $4 with a little LED light. Folds up to go in your pocket. Freaks out the retailers in Colorado when you pull one out to check bud.
