White BHO Butter...

hello , i am trying to figure out the best way to incorporate my lower-grade concentrates into edibles ,, i tried melting some bho into some butter in a crockpot with some water in it, then put it in the fridge ... it came out white and didn't have any of the normal edibles taste and was very potent... but since im not very good in the kitchen or experienced in making edibles ,, i am hoping that some of you here with more knowledge will be willing to help me get the most out of this process , criticism and ideas are most welcome , thank you

from my reading, i see so many 'you can get more doses out of the same material by processing it correctly'
to process correctly, all you need to do is fully decarboxylate the cannabinoids. all that takes is heat and time, and some people don't like to put in time.
my best edibles have come from trim that has simmered in butter with no water for like 6 hours on the very lowest setting on the stove. i've added .25 of hash oil to plain oil so many times, and never got the full effect. most i heated the hash was just in the oven while cooking mini-cakes. so, that being said, i see you use a crock pot. i think my issue with hash oil is this, it vapes while its heating, and nothing is there to catch it, but when i do trim, there's so much trim that i think the lower cannabinoids that vaporize just get stuck in the trimmy butter, making for a more potent product. also, there was a huge time difference in decarb times for me. i think you could use a crockpot on 300-315 for like 4-6 hours and get some really potent shit. like, 'close your eyes and notice how you're glued to earth while it's flying through space at 65,000 miles per hour' potent.

the lower temp you decarb the better.. like all processes it's not linear..
Heat simply speeds the decarb.. the higher the temp the less efficient it is..
...when decarbed at 500(your lighter) 50% or so makes it as intact thc when decarbed at 210 70% makes it..when decarbed at 170 something like 81% when decarbed without heat its in the low 90's/high 80's...at that point light and air oxidation will play a factor and limit you, also decarbing will never give a 100% return as the cooh group is missing..
thca converts to active thc now a smaller molecule, the rest is degraded to delta 8 and to a lesser extent some cbn is formed...
A natural decarb at room temp about 26°c will take about 4 months...it will lower exponentially based on its half life of 35 days...

You should decarb and smoke(vape) at as low of temps as possible to be most efficient....

Most recommend 210 (can't remember the time, easy to find though)...its best to do a double boil over water watching the carboxyl group(cooh) break as h2o and co2, when it stops bubbling its done........I do a natural decarb to retain its lighter terps and to keep cbn and degraded products to a minimum

It sounds to me like you did an ok job with it. When cooking with concentrates you won't get that strong cannabis flavor to the butter that trim or bud gives. Do you know where the BHO came from? I would bet it was atleast partly decarded during the purging process. Then when you cooked it with the butter that probably finished the job pretty well.

oh thank you for the reply's good info for me to work with , i appreciate it. the bho came from me, some people give me stuff that isn't the best , but ill still get a good yield and just looking for stuff to do with the oz's stackin up, i think the last time i put about 10 grams in with 2 pounds it in the crock pot on low for 24 hours ,,, that should be enough time to decarb the bho
