white or black lid

i recently purchased an aeroponic cloner and was given the option of white or black lid. the bucket is black. the description said white lid would reflect light to the plants so i got that one . but now i am thinking black would be better because the light is from above and wouldnt the white lid let some light in? is this a problem? thoughts and opinions encouraged. thanks in advance.

Paint outside dull white. reflects and blocks light from inside. done.
thank you. but my question is, is the white lid reflecting light? the company i bought it from gave me an option for the white or black lid and i chose white because of light reflection. besides how to light proof the top, my question is do i need to. I tried to look in just one hole but with all the clones there my head gets in the way. lol. And from what I can see it appears that their is light in there. idk. so i am unsure if light is getting in. i started 16 clones in the cloner( 8 sites but doubled them up) yesterday when i got home one had a nice root protruding. do i have a problem with light leak or no. thanks all in advance

It does reflect some of the light but if its just the basic stock plastic it will be too thin to block all the light. hold it up and stick a flashlight in it. if you can see light through the plastic light can get to your water.

ok so if it does leak through, lets assume, then i just go and buy house paint and paint it? is there a less chemically involved way? maybe a product already in the household. duct tape possibly. I know it would make it look ugly as hell but who cares if getting good results right?

cut a piece of cardboard the same size and shape as the lid, cut a small hole in the cardboard for each plant pot. paint the cardboard with antifungal paint, or use glue/spraymount and cover it with aluminium foil. place the cardboard on top of the plastic lid, replace your pots. done.

you want white. black attracts light which is converted to heat. this will lead to your roots and water temps rising. not good.

Get some Aluminum foil tape. reflective and will make it light proof with 2 or 3 layers on the outside.

Exactly the reason to go with white. Some light leek will be no problem. The only major adverse reaction to light is algea. So if you start getting it worry then, Till then you made the right decision.

well the update is that the white lid and the minor light leakage did not affect the root growth. currently day 11 and out of 16 five have been transplanted and gonna give the others a few days. the first root kicked out day 6 about 2 inches long. TEAM WHITE LID
