I grow out here in Asia and I have to use skim milk and water to prevent the bud rot because of the high humidity here all the time. It works really well gets rid of the bud rot problem from the high humidity. You can use the milk water mixture and hydrogen peroxide during flower it doesn't hurt the plants.

I got about another week or two till I harvest my White Widows and so far its cleared all the problems up.

Good Luck.

You can use milk through out the harvest cycle. It not only helps to get rid of powdery mildew, but also helps to fortify the plants immune system. If you are worried about the smell use skim milk. No fat equals no smell. You should mix it at one part milk to nine parts of water. Grow on my friends. PS, you should always find an organic solution before trying any man made sprays. You'll thank yourself in the morning.
sorry to bring this old topic up...won't the milk attract other animals to come and eat the plant? or is the amount so little that it wont even attract other reptiles like iguanas... 1 to 9 is pretty much no milk at all..hah

The ONLY way to get rid of it, not tame it, get rid of it, is physan20. It's also the only thing that KILLS pythium spores.

powdery mildew or white death as i like to call it, is caused by overcaring for ur clones/seedlings stop clock watching spray 3-4 times daily and thats it they wont pop for at least 8-10 days just spray n pray easy as that, u may find tips get bit of the white death so just snip it off prob solved. oh yeh ur spray should be normal tap water dont ph just put 1-2ml rhizo or equivelnt and thats all they need! remember ur simulating rain water not ph water

  1. Mix one tablespoon baking soda with one gallon of near-room temperature water.

  2. Add one or two drops of liquid soap to help the solution adhere to the plant.

  3. Add a teaspoon of vegetable oil (olive, sunflower etc.) and shake well to create an emulsion that will help contain the spores (and limit re-infection of the plant).

  4. Spray the affected areas with the solution.

  5. Repeat as necessary.

  6. Understand why this works. This solution changes the Ph balance on the surface of the plant, making it an unsuitable environment for powdery mildew to proliferate.

Hey there fellow growers, I have been dealing with PM for the last 6 months and it always seems to come back fresh with each grow, even after hard core cleaning sessions lol. I have ALWAYS overcame PM just have not been able to kill it off in my environment and don't have the resources to change the current environment. What I use, and it works fucking great, is H202/water spray and it works fan fucking tastic. Of course, I do this every time I see some white build up on my medium and never let it get to my plants.
There are a couple measures you can take to prevent spreading if you dont have the perfect room:
1.) make sure you trim the bottom of your plant, those leaves will spread that shit faster than an std in a dorm.
2.) Try to give your girls a nice H202/water spray down every week at lights off; might sound a little excessive but this shit works.
3.) Of course make sure you have a good ventilation system and low humidity (first rule and should just be common sense).
4.) USE NEEM. At first I was skeptical of the uses for this oil but the shit is amazing and you should be applying every other week until you flush.

If PM isnt gang raping your garden these steps should be enough to help you guys out. I forgot to mention that I run RDWC so this shit spreads like wild fire, but Ive been able to keep it at bay following these steps. I use hydroton, so its not too much to just replace that shit if I ever see a hint of PM.

Alot of first timers freak out about PM like its the white plague, but this shit is easy to fix as long as you keep up with it. Living with it is doable if you dont have the funds to make your room perfect. Just my 2 cents.
Peace RIU hope I helped out a bit.

I've also had problems with PM in my room, lately I found a solution that decreases PM in the environement! I started to use a special uvc lamp that kills PM and all other fungus, bacteria and viruses that grow from the outside in.. Because it is most effective to light your plants daily, you will kill the fungus before it opens and spreads around in your room. So if you do this every day you will decrease the amount of PM in your room and eventually it won't get back anymore.

powdery mildew is systemic so the only way to truly get rid of it is to use a systemic fungicide. Eagle 20 is a systemic fungicide that will get rid of your PM but don't use it in flower only use it in veg.

Serenade or PM Wash are good choices but it will come back. eagle 20 will get rid of it but I don't recommend it in flower because it is a chemical that stays in the plant for like a month. When You finish you need to clean your room to get rid of any lingering spores so it doesnt happen again.
