White Tips on CBD rich Strain, is this normal?

Hello all,

I am growing a CBD rich strain (Therapy by CBD crew) and the last two times I have grown this strain I have noticed a lot of white tips, some look like strands of over grown trichomes and others look like the top of the bud has snow on it.

The plants are being grown under LEDs and I hear that white tips can sometimes happen with THC rich strains under LEDs but does anyone know if this is normal for CBD rich strains as well?

Also when should I harvest?

The tips stay white and then all of a sudden over a few days they turn amber.

So I am wondering when the best time to harvest is, especially because it’s CBD and I cannot tell by “high” if there is a difference.

Also do CBD strains need to cure after drying as long as THC strains?

I have uploaded a few photos.

Excuse the shitty bud formation, I know they are popcorn buds, it gets so hot here (it’s already 100+ degrees) that silica doesn’t really even help to stop this in the late spring and all through summer, which always seems to be when my flowering times land.

I am going to do a bump crop this next time to try and have a fall harvest and see if it’s truly the weather or my shitty growing skills…

While it would be nice to get big bugs, I don’t really need big yields, just enough for me so I can make extracts (I use most of the tops, everything with trichomes on it).

I am more curious about when to harvest…

Last time I waited until everything was mostly amber and it still helps with my seizures, I suppose I should get the strain tested to be sure what’s actually going on.

Sorry for the long post…

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks…
