White Widow day 62 flowering not ready, help?? (with pics)

I have 3 WW at day 62 flowering. I bought the seeds from Dutch Passion and the website said it should be over in 8 weeks (it's a 75% indica 25% sativa). I know it's not 100% accurate and I planned for around 9 weeks flowering and then cut but they are at 9 weeks flowering today and they still don't look ready when I watch the trichomes under the microscope. I would say they are around 50% milky and 50% clear. I maybe saw 1-2 amber in a sea of clear/milky. The pistils on the other hand are all brown from 2 plants and 1 has a lot of white hairs. How long does it take from 50% milky to ready usually?

On the other hand most of the fan leaves have gotten yellow like 2 weeks ago and fell off or dried out and I haven't fed them for 2 weeks (only water) as I planned to cut them.

This is my first grow after a few years and I never watched trichs before. How much more should I wait?

Did you count the first 2 weeks of flipping 12/12?
if a seed company says 8 weeks to flower, your plants should be under 12/12 for at least 9-10weeks. The first two weeks shouldn't be counted as the plants is just setting her bud sites up.
I am yet to have a plant finnish in 56days after thowin it under 12/12. Just my experiences.....

Yes I started the count on flipping day but I didn't think they will be ready in 8 weeks like they said so I thought ok I give them 9 weeks but it's 9 weeks today and they still look not ready :(

Yea agree, you should first start the count once they actually begins to show flowers, not when you flip to 12/12

And often they also need a bit more time then they claim, give em a week or two more and next time continue the feeding a bit longer, after a few run`s you know the cycle (stretch, setting flowers, bulking/maturing)

And it also come down to how you like em (how mature) not that different from a tomato etc

Normally the harvest window is 2 week`s +/-
I like to harvest early with the strain/s I grow or they just put me to sleep and a week or two cut of in the grow cycle also give me a harvest or two more a year, but you do need to give em time to bulk/swell up a bit as it do look like they could gain a bit more weight (could be do to lack of P/K tho)

i would go another week or until all of the fan leaves die off. she looks ready to pick now though if you like more of a high rather than a stone. the extra week will allow them to swell a little.

Good info Slipon..
I agree about counti.g from first sign of flowers. Counti.g from flip is only good if the plants are mature when put in flower. And even then its only going to be a reference, not exact.

yea, why I do like to grow mine in to maturity at least and preferable so they show sex before I move em to the flowering room

If it was mine, I would maybe cut the most done of em (for some X-mass/new year smoke) and let the others go a week or 10 day`s more, and if I had some black strap molasses (I do) I would delude a ts in a cup of boing water and add to the water Can (1 gallon) the last 1-2 waterings

IMO, if you wait til the plants are mature they seem to produce a more vibrant and productive plant.
They also make the switch in half the time.

yep, and you also get the most out of the potential of the genetics and the environment provided

The plants were mature when I flipped to 12/12 as they had preflowers for at least 2 weeks. It took around 10 days to clearly show they are flowering after the switch.
They should really specify when is the "8 week strain" actually ready. IMO counting from flipping is the only accurate way of defining a strain. Counting from when you actually see flowers will be different for each grower... someone will see 2 hairs and start counting and someone will wait to see a full smokable flower and start counting...

Where should I take the test sample from? The middle of the plant?
I usually put the test samples in the oven for around 30 min on 160f/70c or is there a better way to fast dry test samples?

sounds like how I do it, or over night on the radiator/heater, and I would find a top/middle Bud of decent size and one that look most finish, if you only want to take a sample and not a hole plant

Agree slip...top or ,middle.
I use a dome and 2x 23w cfls,to dry.
Or,my T5Ho I can sit a sample on top for a day or two, gives a little better idea of taste.
