White widow dried too fast

So I harvested 2 plants Sunday night (it's Thursday afternoon). I build this little box to dry them in, they're hanging inside it. I have a fan blowing in the box, but it's facing into the corner so it's not blowing directly on them, although they are swaying a little bit. Anyway, I felt them last night before I went to sleep and I noticed they were drying kinda fast, but nothing that worried me. This morning I woke up and the box came open (th tape fell off) and they have been exposed to my probably 58 degree room tempteratures all night. I just felt them and they're crunchy! AHH! Like bone dry. Did I ruin it!?

tryn jar em it should bring moisture back to the nugs because theyl sweat.,.,gud luk.,.,its about time to start the cure if theyre bone dry after that.,.,are ure buds dense or lanky?

On a scale of 1-10, one being super lanky 10 being super dense, IDE say they're a 6. I harvested another white widow last night and hung this buds up in the same box, they're still really moist. I'm thinking if I shut the fan off completely and leave the box sealed shut th moisture from the fresh cut buds might rehydrated the bone dry buds. (the same can be done with cigars)

I don't like to use a fan cuz it dries em really quick.
Try jar curing it with some of ur other, mre moist buds.
A humidor works for cigars well because of a humidity cube that u soak with water, and the boxes are near air tight.
The stem is a big factor in the buds "sweating" while curing, if the stems r already bone dry there is not much that I think u can do, if somebody has a really good method for regaining moisture, I would like to hear it as well.

surprisingly although the buds are bone dry, the stems are still moist and bendable. Do you think if I cure them in jars now the moisture from the stem might rehydrate the buds? I think I may leave them in the drying box(fan is OFF) and since the other 1/3 of the buds in there are still fresh moist it will rehydrate the others. (previously to today if I was to open the box after a few hours I could feel the humidity come out like a punch in the face as soon as I opened the box, so I was actually worried they wouldn't dry in there unless it was open. That's the only reason I think leaving them in there with the moist buds will work.

dont let them suffocate tho, otherwise the moisture will form a mold and ur bud will get nasty.
u r supposed to start curing when the outside of the bud is a little "crispy", but the stem will still be bendable. so it sounds like u should just begin curing, and take the bud out of ur box. get urself a mason jar or a few, for about a dollar or two at a grocery strore, dollar store, or any superstore.

thats from fdd2blk's curing tutorial, it is vvery simple, and straight forward. if u let them hang still, even with fresh cut plants, theres a good chance they will still dry out even more. so cut em up if they are too big, and toss em in a jar. then close for the night.. blah blah.. just like the quote.

I read somewhere on this site (I just cant find the link to the post) if you want to regain some moisture to your buds if they are too dry, you can try placing a leaf of lettuce in the jar with the bud. I read you're not supposed to let the lettuce touch the bud though. I was told a banana peel will do the same. I've only tried it with lettuce on some sample buds I snipped to smoke to see what kinda high it would give me. For what it's worth, the lettuce thing does work.

The stems will still have moisture in them if they are bendy. Place the buds and stems in an airtight glass jar and leave for 2-3 days. Open the jar and you will find some of the moisture has been transferred back to the bud. From then on burp the jar for 20/30 mins a day until the stems snap and the bud is dry, but not over dry. The moisture from the stems will help re-hydrate the bud so don't worry about that. You just have to keep your eye out for mold. You should be ok as long as you don't let the jars sit un-opened for long periods of time. The curing process will help mositure from deep down in the bud, surface, and evaporate. Mold only forms if the moisture content is above 10/15% from what I remember. :mrgreen:
