white widow, Mazar x Afghan grow with t5 and hps questions

This is my second grow, my first was with lowryder 2 from dr chronic which turned out really well but was an outdoor grow.

My current setup is 2, 54w, 4 ft, t5 lights.

I have 5 plants total so far, (3 white widow and 2 Mazar x Afghan) and am just looking for a mother plant of each strain.

My first question is do you think those 2 t5s are enough for veg?

Second how many plants would I be able to have under the 400W hps?

The shop im buying my light from has a 400w fully assembled kit for 250$ and the 1000w hps is only 50$ more should I go for a bigger light? I have the money and the space its just im limited to how many plants I can veg at one time.

I was thinking of building my grow box pretty soon and am not sure how big to build it, how big would it need to be for both the 400w, and 1000w?

those t5's will not be enough to veg 5 plants and clones you will def need a more powerful light. a 1000W is good for like a 5x7ft room max or so . i would also not use it in a room smaller than about 4x4 because of the heat it would put out. so if you're going to get a 1000W hps your room should be like 16 sq ft to about 35 sq ft. a 400W is good for about 3x3 to 4x4 area max. how many total plants are you looking to have? your going to need a 2nd grow area and 2nd light if you are going to keep mothers, clones, and flowering plants.

Im not sure how many plants yet, im just looking to max my grow room potential. My plants are only about 5 inchs so far so I still have time to decide.

good thread. I'm about to start my journey and I'm still trying to learn as much as possible. I just picked up some equipment and I'm curious about my potential.
I have:
1 1000 watt hps
1 1000 watt hps/mh
1 650 watt hps

It also came with a bunch of ventilation equipment (thank god). I haven't figured out what stage to use all the lights for. Now that I have (most of) the stuff, I need a plan. I want a cycle of 10-15 plants. Should I build little individual rooms with one light and a tray of beauties? I could run ducting from box to box.

How many mature plants will fit in a 4x4 box (room)?

I wouldn't use a 600W in a 4x4 space even. Too little space. 5x5 would be good for that. 2 1000W setups...that would be like an entire 12x12 room or so. Do you have the space?

I was thinking of using the 2 1000s in separate rooms? It depends on how much space is required to grow 16 (square number) to about 2½ feet tall? Also, 4ft is kinda easy on lumber purchases. But that's a low priority. My space is limited vertically. Basement setup with 4½-6ft head room. My width is about 6ft, but 30ft of run. 1 4ft room (gotta walk by it) and 1 6ft room would be doable. With mini rooms for ion system and youngins.

Originally, the plan was 1 600 hps/mh on a runner. But I got a good deal on a bulk package So that doesn't mean that I need to use every light for my first grow. I just need to fill in the blanks with what I don't have. I want an eb-n-flo setup with soil . . . I think.

If you have the lights you might aswel use them I would atleast, I guess it depends what your growing for, yourself and a few friends or profit.

I was considering doing sea of green myself im just unsure of how many plants i can fit into a 4x4 area or 6x6 area if I buy a 1000w hps. I still have tons of lowryder 2 seeds from my first grow, im thinking of growing those while my other plants finish their veg since they only take 2 months to grow from seed.

After a little reading, I've heard 1 sq ft per plant. That's 16 in a 4x4. I will probably go with 5x5 but still keep the 16. That should allow the lower part to develop a little better.

I'm growing for myself, a few friends & my utility bill. If all three of those are covered . . . I'll be a happy man! No need to be greedy . . . just stoned.

haha ya and thanks for the info bro, ive decided to go with the 1000w hps and I watched a really helpful vid on youtube from mr green on how to build a grow room. I plan on designing a bigger version of his only with soil and a bigger light.

Tomorrow i'll buy 2 more t5s then my hps in a few weeks

My plan is to veg another month then take 4 clones of each of my 5 plants.

Ill flower 1 clone of each plant to determine the sex of the mother plant

All this should bring me close to the middle of december then i can put the clones ive been growing into flowering, say maybe middle of january.

This process could take a me until april before my plants are done!

Luckily I my lowryder seeds that finish in 2 months so ill grow those in the flower chamber while im waiting
