Hi there guys. I've finally gotten round to doing another grow after many ups n downs. I guess it's all about timing. I have chosen to do a coco grow which is a first for me. I am working on a tight budget so the outcome of this thread will hopefully be somewhat educational for those who want to start from scratch. I am also hoping it will be educational for me as I have always been a soil kind of guy although I have grown hydroponically.

I chose some of the strains above and got some as freebies from Attitude Seeds. My aim is to grow this round from seeds but take cuttings to select some mother plants. First Round will be a SCROG (also a first for me). I think this will be the best way forward after taking clones.

I popped 26 seeds, all of which germinated and shot roots. Since putting them in the rockwool cubes I seem to have lost some. I cracked the rockwool to see and some are rooting quite well but are not breaking the surface? has this happened to anyone before? I am hoping that a couple more will at least break through especially since includes all of my white widow's :( So far there are 18 babies to show for it which would be decent if I could pull 2oz off each :weed:

Starting my seeds in a cupboard then waiting the arrival of my 2.4 x 1.2m grow tent. Going to run an inlet and outlet of air. I have 7 x 400w lights which I am looking to put either 4 or 5 of them in the tent. My grow bags sizes are 17 litres (when they arrive) which should be sufficient. Gonna be using Canna Coco as a base and Advanced Nutrients Voodoo Juice, Big Bud, B-52 and Over Drive. I might add Bud Candy to this and some Tarantula but I am open to what others are using too.

So that's the just of it. Anyway I have posted a few pics of my sprouts and the going so far  All help on coco growing will be appreciated and also cloning and mothers. I've usually always started from seed.

PS, I haven't smoked in 2 years. lol. I want to make this the crop that makes me enjoy smoking again :bigjoint: The skagg that does the rounds and the prices the guys are charging these days leaves a bitter taste in my mouth :cuss:

The smell of a sugar black rose I grew, must have been 3 years ago, was extremely floral. Very delightful smell. Enjoy.

So I've used an old cupboard that I found in someone's front yard that was 'free to a good home'. This is as good as it gets. I will keep using it as my veg box for the meantime. It should hold a couple mothers and clones as they get done.

An update on the seedlings, I've lost all my white widow babies from G13. Don't know what happened but the roots were there and then decided to turn soft and die off. I'm left with 16 plants out of 26 seeds. Quite disappointing but I guess that is an area I need to work on in future.

I've attached a pic of my cupboard. I've used a water based vinyl paint so it's more durable and has lest chemical. Should work a treat

Even 16 I would say is too much for that cupboard. You don't think that is small?

I have to ask do you think you could have grown 26 plants in that? and were do you plan on putting all this lighting you say you have? Or do you plan on using a different room for flower?

Lol. Yea I probably should have made it a bit clearer. This is going to be my veg box for a mother and some clones. In the meantime it is just for my seedlings which will be getting transferred to a 2.4 x 1.2m tent. This will run either 4 or 5 400w hps bulbs. I'm doing this on as tight a budget as possible so freebies like this painted with some leftover paint was welcome

Babies are getting a lil bigger but seem a bit slow on the uptake. I am going to start with mild nutes now. Have started to set up my tent excluding the vents. I think that's gona be a maze of ducting running through my room as one will be going out the chimney and one for an inlet from a vent in my wall. I'm thinking of getting a cheap carbon filter for my inlet too so I don't suck in anything from the outside world. I have 5 x 400w hps lights in a 2.4 x 1.2 tent. Does anybody think this is overkill? It's the same as running 2 x 1000w but my theory is the the light will be better dispersed?

I'm really hoping for a decent crop. Going to take some clones in case but if I can get enough off this one to last a while I may just keep a mother alive for a while until I need to do another. Does anyone know how long I could cure bud for in glass jars? I figure a kilo could last me a year easily if I don't give too much away this time.

Anyway I've attached some pics so far. Happy Easter to all who read this

Anybody out there? Need some help! I've had a few issues along the way with this coco grow. So far I've experienced what look like root rot when I transplanted. Some roots around the edges of the pots on the inside were brown and somewhat liquified... Think I solved that problem but what has been the worst of it are these rust spots! I've gone into bottled water for now until I can get an RO system. My water is 400ppm. I have also dosed with some magne-cal in ph'd water instead of a normal feed today.

Could somebody let me know if I'm on the right track to sorting out the issue. I am almost sure it's a deficiency hence the magne-cal.

I have put up some pics of what's there. They look wet as I did a foliar spray. The spots have been appearing on a regular basis and I can't get rid of them. I've looked into it all over the net and sometimes there are different answers. image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg
