Fuck around shawry those bad bitches just keep looking better! And yep dog nailed it .... as usual per usual ;) peroxide will clear that green algae up real quick and I can tell ya from my experiences your grow is gonna be just fine I mean just look at those sexy girls :D and the owner of the hydro shop I use says he has never heard of algae actually killing a grow could stunt it perhaps. As far as I'm concerned if somebody did their research on it I think you could find an algae that could perhaps be beneficial ...just speculating of coarse but who knows.

Also thinking about a scrog setup eh? Its the way to go man just takes time to learn all the basics and of coarse a good while to master it but the rewards are worth it. Scrogging definitely maximises the space you got and if done right you'll end up with all top juicy huge and no bottom of the plant crap. I learnt my method from a guy on here called flowamasta and he constantly pulls a pound plus off single plants in a 4x4 tent which is pretty damn impressive in my eyes , you should check his grows out too for sure. As far as a setup man I sure did love the hydro with 100% perlite I mean its cheap easy and I've never seen such rapid growth with any other medium. Soil will work fine too but again most of the monster beast scribe I've seen were done in hydro unless outdoor. Anyway man hope this helps ya out a bit and man keep up the good work those plants are beauty! Cheers brotha

P.S. : forgot to say but that gap you got in your rescould be easily covered by some tinfoil I used it in my setup cheap and easy just the way I like it haha.

My suggestion would be to get those roots covered up to take care of the algae.. the roots want to hold onto the water, water and light = algae. I've never seen a grow where the roots were left out in the open on a flood and drain table.. they are always covered by some sort of medium.

You see here in post 19 that the picture on the far right shows all the roots outside of the netpots with nothing to protect them..

update time again!! i gave the ladies a bit of a trim today as the light wasnt getting to all bud sites so ive cut off most of the big fan leaves & got rid of the lower small branches to hopefully give the main colars a boost, ive also upped my feeding pattern to 8 times a day, im hoping this is going to make them lovely buds juice up massive now!! fingers crossed!!

Yeah, my 100th post was a helpful one.. woot woot.

Yea What Brother Adam&Cola Said.I Thought I Saw Exposed Roots In You Post Before Last.May I Suggest Sun Leaves Shale Rock.Hydroton Will Work Too But That Much In Your Trays Will Screw With Your pH Big Time Shale Is More Stable bongsmilie

thanks guys im well happy with the way this grow has gone & i know for sure i am learning more & more each day thanks to all you guys so please keep the good advice coming!! as for my exposed roots with this being a first grow i wasnt sure if it would hurt the plants or not, i have the problem of having to take all the plants out of my grow space everytime i do a res change this is why they havnt been covered with any kind of medium but if i could just cover them from the light with tin foil like curly suggests on my next grow surely this would cure the problem and also reflect some light back up to the bottom of the plants? what do the masses out there reckon?? im soooo looking forward to my harvest to find out what i get but does anybody have any recomendations for strains that yield particularly well under growing conditions such as my set up? ive been looking at the 'big bomb' from bomb seeds it talks of being there highest yielding strain and not too expensive for 10 feminised seeds!

peace and happy growing to all my helpfull friends!!

shit i nearly forgot i will be starting a new thread very shortly i have a vipar A200 in a smaller room same kind of set up ( ebb & flo ) same nutes, 2 x white widow x big bud the same as these babies & a freebie 'mango' strain another experiment & trying out the A200, i will be putting all the advice into practice on this next smaller grow

I'm doing a grow with a Vipar 100 along with a 200 CFL flowering light, vegged with a 125 CFL then when i switched to 12/12 i went to LED and the 200CFL. Going week 4 tomorrow for me.

My advice next grow is don't use Net pots if your doing an Ebb and Flow. Use Rockwool 6" x 6" at least the roots will be concealed. and you can get covers for the rockwool or make your own.

Example:

With rockwool just make sure you soak them in Ph'd water for 24hrs before putting anything in them.

You could also try grow stones, or hydroton.. just don't use a netpot. for your style of grow.

Lesson learned!

more good advice i love it!! so do you have to feed less often with rockwool? i imagine they hold water quite a while?

They hold water but not as well as you might think. It's pretty airy. But they hold water better than just hydroton or grow stones alone. You can grow an entire plant in a 6"x6" rockwool cube.. or you can get the bigger one, I forget how big they are made.

i have got the plants on a week long flush as of yesterday, i never managed to fully cure my algae problem but they were vertually as far as they were going to go so ill be harvesting next weekend, i have made some shelves out of mdf to sit my plant pots in for my next grow to cure the light getting to the roots problem i have had with this grow, this way i can still take the ladies out of my grow space to do the weekly res change, i'll post some pics of this soon as i havent quite finished them yet, the lights have performed brilliantly it was just a bit of a learning curve for me as to what plants like & dont like with this only being my first propper grow so hopefully i will get a much better yield on my next one as i will rectify the mistakes i made on this one, i will post pics next week of harvest

final update time!
i harvested last weekend & have just finished drying all the lovely bud and for all of you that watched this grow from the start im a bit disapointed with the final dry weight of just over 13 oz! dont get me wrong that is still a shit load of weed & im going to have a lot of fun smoking it but i was expecting maybe 2 oz per plant but i suppose this was my first real grow & still have a lot of learning to do, im sure my next grow can only get better after sorting out the light getting to the roots problem,

thanks to everyone who gave me little tips & advice along the way i have taken it all on board & will be putting it all into practice on my next adventure, im sure i will be putting pics up & showing you all my 50 oz grow in no time at all lol!!!

peace out people happy growing!!
