Put it this way, all of the breeders you listed have at least some top notch lines, and you can get something great from any of them. Many of them are ultimately starting with the same elite bred lines or clones anyway, so there is going to be some genetic overlap. (EG, more than one of the above are starting with famous CA-kush cuts, etc).

A few of them probably don't offer anything in their entire lines that isn't at least "very good", though you may have to watch out for hermies with some of the CA-type kushes (that's just how those lines are).

The way you asked the specific question ("who's got the dankest of the dank"), to my mind is a question about who has the most potent strain.

In my opinion, focusing on that is a mistake, albeit a common one. Everyone seems to want "the most potent" strain possible, but that's really just one of many criteria you should consider, and probably nowhere near the top one.

Once you hit about 20% THC, you're got a "really potent" strain to the point where you won't need much, and I'd argue that something 22-26% isn't functionally any "better". Is 100 proof whisky really better than 80 proof? If 20% THC won't do it for you, a 25% "superstrain" probably won't either, and in either case you can make hash to increase potency if you really feel the need.

Instead, things you should think about include ceed availability and cost, flowering time, yield, flavor, medical effect, and general ease of growth. *Especially* if you're a new grower, these things are more important than absolute potency.
There is a HUGE difference between strains that are 20% THC and 25%-27% THC. I know this because I get free samples from tested meds on a regular basis. You can't compare it to 80 and 100 proof whisky, alcohol being the main component. With pot, the cannabinoids very widely, that's why the taste and high is so different from each strain to another. I'd much rather have my 27% THC strain with 2% CBD than a 20% THC strain with 0.8% CBD.

well dont they all use clone only genetics pretty much for all the crosses the polled seedbanks create?which would mean that they all would be pretty dank?
what about karma?very underrated

-ok so which strains available in seed form would boast that high of a thc rating and cbd as well....id love to know which strains have that much thc...we should have a thread in the strain section with strains and the thc,cbd ratios .

Pre98 bubba kush has a high cbd, and still has enough thc to get you high. Think the # something like 12-14%thc and 10-14% cbd. Pre98 bubba is my fav smoke!!

You'll find fire in all of them, but I voted Sannies because they're cheap, easily attainable and the service is great.

Yeah, its about 25% relative THC. . . .exactly the same as the difference in alcohol concentration between 80 and 100 proof whisky.

Like most drugs, effect is proportionate to dose, and that's going to be a function of not only how potent the weed it, but also how much of it you smoke. Stronger weed doesn't have any "magical" effect; it just takes less of it to get the same dose. Again, any decent grade of water hash will be >25% THC, and you could make it from any strain you like, if you're so inclined.

Not incidentally, I'm not aware of many commercial strains that will *from ceeds* consistently give you 25%+ THC, but if you could name some, I'd love to hear. (I have seen a few claims made to this effect, though I'm not sure I believe them).

With pot, the cannabinoids very widely, that's why the taste and high is so different from each strain to another. I'd much rather have my 27% THC strain with 2% CBD than a 20% THC strain with 0.8% CBD.
Well, I think that scent and flavor are mostly related to terpenes and other non-cannabinoid agents in the buds. In fact, its my understanding that pure THC actually has no discernable scent at all. Apart from some secondary potentiating effect of certain terpenes, I don't think there is any correlation between strain potency and quality of the scent/flavor (which is largely subjective anyway). You can have great tasting/smelling weed that isn't very strong, and vice versa.

I do agree with your other point entirely.

As you say, its mostly the cannabinoid ratios that are responsible for the qualitative effect of the high. Specifically, does a strain have CBD, CBG, THCV, etc, and in what proportion are these other cannabinoids in comparison to THC. CBD, in particular has a modulating effect on THC, both reducing the intensity of the high, but increasing its duration AND changing its quality. CBG acts as a serotonin receptor agonist, and it may have anti-depressant effects, contribute to strain "sleepiness", etc.

A strain that's 27% THC/2% CBD is going to have a ratio of 13.5 THC/CBD, while the 20%/0.8% strain is only going to be 25:1 THC/CBD. The former strain would be expected to be quite a bit different in high quality than the later, and it should also offer more of the benefits associated with CBD.

Note that you should be able to get the exact same qualitative effect with a strain that's 19% THC/1.4% CBD, but again, you'd have to smoke about 40% more of it to get the same dose.

I recently saw quite an interesting take on this. If you're interested, click on my link to "Williams Wonder" below, and go to the post on measured cannabinoids. The European company that did the measurement, "alpha-cat" has also classified different strains into "chemotypes" based on measured cannabinoid profiles, and you can get an overview of the different types, expected effects, and which cannabinoids are involved from their website. I think the reality is a little more complicated than this, because this company doesn't distinguish (for example) between otherwise similar strains with say 20:1 vs 10:1 THC:CBD ratios, but its a pretty good introduction to the concept, I think.

There were only 10 available options in the poll, unfortunately. I did the best I could with it.

I'm glad to see Sannie/E$ko getting so many votes. I haven't tried them, but if their gear is a good as the others' on this list, then they deserve huge props for their prices being so much lower.

IMO, the biggest reason Sannie's prices are lower is because he sells directly to the public.

By cutting out the middlemen (ie the ceed banks) Sannie can make about the same profit per ceed, even selling at roughly half the price.

I think flavors come in a close second to potency and quantity being the next(atleast for me)
Anything around 18% thc is fine with me as long as the flavor is great!
When you like the smoke>your going to endulge in another 2.5-3.5 hrs anyways(if your not busy doing other things)

I made a mistake on the Skywalker og, it's 1.6 CBD. You can get high THC strains from seeds but it's extremely rare. What you can do is buy seeds that already have high THC and do selective breeding until you get nice ratios like this. There's a guy in Los Angeles that has an og Kush that tests around 34% THC 4.45 cbd, it's the highest I've seen. I have not tried it and it could be bullshit. This Skywalker og is not the clone only skywalker, I'm pretty sure it's a cross of Skywalker.
TOTAL 29.3

The Skywalker OG from Reserva Privada is what I'm smoking on now and it is fabulous smoke. It is incredible, but I don't live in a medical state to compare it to other elite strains. I have been smoking for over 20 years and it's some of the best pot I've ever smoked.

The Clone only Skywalker is where it's at. The RP Skywalker is just not the same.

The whole point in having high THC strains is vending. If everyone is vending 20%THC strains and you have something that is say 26% THC, you can bet you are going to get top dollar and your buds are going to sell faster than all the others. I see this all the time, it might even taste like shit but it will outsell everything else.

I've had great luck with CC's "Alien OG". Highest THC content ever tested according to the results of a quick google search. 27-28%THC I think.

What I'd really like to know is where is the best place to buy elite clones in Cali? Harborside sells so many fake/mislabeled clones I'm afraid to purchase from them anymore.

TGA winning in votes, that's a joke lmao.
i'm sure you liked my edited post then stumpjumper.. i agree, subby's stuff is far from potent.. if you want candy flavor and smells, sub's your guy, if you want potent, stable strains, go else where imvho..

very correct jogro.. most seed banks take 50% of the profits and the other half goes to the breeders.. this is usually why you'll see lower prices if you deal directly with a breeder, but not always..
