cfl's are pretty bad, for veg state they work great,f lowering.. not so much

the lower spectrum which is sposed to be better for flowering seems to incourage more growth then the higher spectrums.

So if daylight or cool light (blue) is good for veg and warm light is good for flowering what about full spectrum cfl's... ??

Below is a good site with lots of info on each type of light (see PHOTOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS at bottom of page for comparison of different lights)...

Someone with more lighting experience in color and lumin please explain what full spectrum would be good for if anything...

I would guess it would be good for both veg and flower but i have no real technical understanding of what the plant requires at each stage other then blue = veg and red = flower...

I'm gonna try to borrow a good digi cam so I can show all of you my first grow. 3 afgani, soil, in a 2x4 closet, about 7 weeks into flower, letting them go for maybe another 2. I used somewhat of a lst technique, so they are only 2 ft tall, but if the main stem was vertical they would be 3-3 1/2. I used PureBlend pro nutes with Liquid Karma...just applied Humboldt's Gravity earlier this week. I expect 2-3 oz per plant. What really going to blow your mind is the lighting used...good ol regular fluorescent shoplights the whole way. I switched from cool white to warm from veg to flower. Six 4ft tubes on top, with five 2ft used for side lighting...approx. 30,000 lumens total. Uses 340w and costs less than $150 total. If I can do this with regular fluros, I don't see why you couldn't do the same with cfl's. I will post pics soon.

my leaves curl down when their close to the ballast on the cfl lights because that's where most of the heat comes from on cfl's
