Hurley stole a bunch of food after they got into the hatch. And the chick from the mental institution flash back who Michael later killed talked Hurley into throwing it away---which he did---but then an airplane parachuted a new batch of food down. He's been eating ever since

I dont watch the show. If an airplane parachuted food down, then obvioulsy they must know there is people there. It's the Darma people dropping the food---apparently there's some mathmatical formula that predicts the end of humanity and the people are on the island to solve it---not to be rescued---they are saving the rest of humanity.

I used to watch it religiously even though I never liked it that much. But my mom and girlfriend at the time liked it so i figured would try my best. needless to say i haven't watched more that a fourth of this season. i miss the flashbacks!
