I'm not saying you should agree with but but I am totally and 100% against this plan.

I mean can you imagine a 9% national sales tax?

There goes all the internet marketplace.....

nucking futz .... establishment man walking...an enemy of the people...the FEDs hitman...He can go fuck himself, the people can't give the government MORE money..especially the damn feds....WTF...One of the dumbest ideas ever...

This is national sales tax ontop of state...people will spend less money and there will be less jobs...poor people will go hungry...the 99% and the top 48% would suffer.

Right now its 9-9-9 , before they are done with it, it will be 30-30-30

Really Its nothing new, its not a "BOLD NEW PLAN" - The FED has been trying to get us to pay a national sales tax for a long time this has been in the works...Another UNCONSTITUTIONAL TAX IS NOT WHAT WE NEED!

Isn't it crazy 999 upside down..yea..what if we have this for 2012....yea....that will be creepy lol and some say obama is the anti-christ..this guy is just...wow...like I said...he is the enemy of the people.

Its kinda screwed up cause the topic is a different question then the poll, pretty sure people pressed yes cause they disagree with giving government money. At least I hope.

Let's see 9% nation tax on top of my state's sales tax would be a 16.5% for non food items! That is absolutely nuts!

Plus un an effort to keep cost down manufacturers would basically be forced to move more stuff overseas to try and offset the cost of this tax.

How do you spell failure??

9% flat tax = good for the wealthy , bad for the poor, a little of both for mid level taxpayers

9% corporate tax = good for the corporations (on average, a few might not like going from paying no taxes to 9%)

9% federal sales tax = very bad for the poor due to the fact they MUST spend a larger portion (many have to spend all of it) of their wages just to survive.

Seems to me, to use their terms, this would be class warfare against the poor.

9% corporate tax rate is hella competitive and would bring lots of jobs back to the states. Isn't that what you people want?
I agree the 9% federal sales tax is a bit much, but what would you rather have, a job that pays you so you can actually buy things? Or not have a job at all..?
You tell me...

Id rather work for myself then be someone elses bitch...Id rather I keep every penny I earn...9% sales tax discourages spending....which is a brain dead idea....thats NOT going to help the economy.

His plan sucks and the fact he is a canidate and gets press coverage and has supporters scares me- how is this guy on TV and potentally our next president?- I feel the same about Newt and Perry but I do give Cain credit for having a plan and keeping it simple- he's on the right path there at least, that's what we need, but I don't like his plan or him as a canidate.

How about we just start reducing wasteful and duplicitous government programs until the Income tax rate is 0%, then we learn to live with a smaller government?????? Anyone?

oh they talked about the Fed last night? I didn't watch, was wasting my time watching "Trolls 2" instead.

What'd they say in a nutshell? I remember in an earlier debate Romney said he believed that the Fed should only focus on price stability, and a couple candidates seemed to like that idea; Any change on that front?

They talked about the FED a lot, Newt said quite a bit about it, Ron Paul got to talk about it three times, and confronted herman cain, santorum also confronted herman cain on the 9-9-9 plan.

Mitt Romney said its not important, Herman Cain denied that he said its not important, which he has said repetidly, there is a lot of audio and video of herman cain saying he didn't support the audit of the fed.

Im guessing most people here pay 15% income tax. Some maybe 25%. So would you rather pay that on EVERYTHING you make? Or would you rather pay 9% on EVERYTHING you make, and pay an extra 9% on ONLY the things you buy?

It's all bullshit- Vote Paul
The 9% tax would be on top of your current state sales tax, You would still have social security and medical deductions- also the poor are exempt from current income taxes, so his plan would take have the poor loosing more than 27% of there earnings right off the top
