i had a plant hermie like 5 or 6 weeks ago and im about to harvest it, are the seeds gonna be ready? they look ready by the looks of the ones i can see. also, are these seeds gonna be feminized? i guess if somehow i got male pollen on my clothes and pollenated them accidentally that way they wouldnt be fem seeds, but otherwise if theyre truly hermie are they fem seeds>?

They are fem seeds but will be prone to turn hermaphrodite. Fem seeds are bullshit! There is a proper way to do it but it takes finding a true female that wont herm under any conditions and reversing it using STS. Your seeds will probably end up producing buds that blow loads all over each other.

Indeed. Self pollinated plants produce seeds that will grow up to be bukake-loving whores! If the herm pollinated a plant of a different strain then you have F1 seeds that have been feminized the wrong way. Quit growing the strain that hermed on you!

I am currently growing my orange satalite. I crossed a cali orange male from DP to a sexy blue satelite from breeder steve. I love both of these strains. The cali o because of the yeild and flavor . the blue sat because of high and color. My hope was to increase yeild from the blue sat whis is quite low and basicly see what else happened. About 8 years ago I crossed a c99 to a stargazer in hopes of getting a good mix of head and body stone. Turned out great but the offspring was unstable as hell, definatly a mix you had to grow a few out and pick your mom. Thats about it for me, who knows what the future holds. Thinking about crossing mu obs with my 3queens (nl#5 x sweet tooth#3 x c99) which in in my current grow, that is unless im lucky enuf to get all fems out of my of my 5 obs. My 3queens are all fem.

This thread inspired me to crack some seeds I made a few years ago. I crossed a Maui Wowi Male I got from Hawaii with a Blackberry female I got from a dispensary in Berkley. I understand that the Blackberry is a rare clone-only strain. Should prove to be a very interesting plant. I have 3 other sets of seeds that came from the male MW , including a female MW. Can't wait to see what happens!

I've had my own strain for a while
i crossed a white widow hermie with a church female
their baby is called the funeral and she has been my main producer for the last year
very ideal strain smells and taste amazing.
great buzz too, kind of turns your brain to shit for 45 min to an hour
then the best body buzz that lasts for hours

+ rep for having the coolest name so far :)

or you could call it "white funeral" if you're a billy idol fan ;)

i love seeing all of you guys that like to breed your own strains. i have an f1 hybrid of great white shark and a mystery father. i am about 3 weeks from harvest and it smells like heaven. sad part is it is a hermie. i might plant the seeds, i have heard great things about hermie plants offspring. and im not too worried about seeds. the only pot i can get at a decent price is 20% seed and its shitty bud too. im hoping one day to breed something special but for now this is a great way to learn about phenotypes and the whole breeding experience on a small scale. keep growin

kinda unrelated, as its not a new strain, but i've got a plant right now making seeds that i believe should be fems..... i left some on her to attempt to re-veg for outdoors this year, as it was a great plant..... it refuses to re-veg thusfar though. instead, the calyxes are swelling into huge balls, and its throwing out naners everywhere, thus self-seeding.... had the first mature one pop out today, waiting on the rest to plant them and see what happens here. :)

I crossed a BB Blue Cheeze with a Nirvana NLxShiva. So they're NOT my strains but just one I did due to the fact I couldn't get a female out of the Nivana NL/Shiva. So when all males came up AGAIN I had some Blue Cheeze felmales so I polinated a branch. I also did the same with a Belladonna male to the BB/BC female but haven't grown that one yet.

The new strain adds a lot of branching to the BB/BC and increased the yield a lot. I think I got a pix of it I'll post it... about 6 weeks into flowering. Sorry, sucky pix!:wall:
Ah, I chopped it and cured it. I get a good buzz off it but it tastes like shit. Maybe the fully cured version will be better but this strain ain't going no where. I'm ending it so it doesn't spread. Oh well, I'll have to try some different (better) genetics down the road.

You must have some low self-esteem to go around an anonamous message board bashing people. Most of these are simple hybrids people have fun with. Also, you would be suprized what the results are if you have quality parents. What strains are you growing?
Well first I was not bashing anyone, it's only a question, speaking of low self esteem....
But the question was "what new strains have you made" that's all.
I wanted to know if you could really call a unstable F1 a new strain.
And no I have not ever bought seeds in my life. I buy clones, it works for me

In the last year I have grown:
NYC Diesel
Strawberry cough
Royal Kush
OG Kush
Big bud
and this shit called Pineapple??? not good at all.

But lets face it, if all you could get where unstable F1 crosses we would all hate life. JR

Just so you know half the strains your growing are F1 Hybrids. Do you consider OG Kush a strain? It's a F1 from bagseed. Strawberry Cough is also a F1 depending on where it came from. If you've ever popped a pack of NYC Diesel you would no it's not stable at all. I love it when people call strains stable. No matter how much you work a strain you're still going to have variances in your progency.

I was about to say that OG kush should not be called a strain because it's "only available in clone form", but then I see that DNA has feminized OG Kush seeds for sale,so who knows?

I guess I will not be buying any seeds. It sounds like too much of a mess.lol

there seems to be two definitions of a "stable strain".... this is the seed company's ploy. By nature of genetics, F1 hybrids are basically homogeneous, thus able to be refered to as "stable"...... if you breed said F1's together, you get all kinds of variations, but if you grow more of those F1's, they should still be the same.....

"true breeding" is the term you should be looking for, that is a true, "stabilized" strain..... but they are few and far between these days, and they too came from hybrids most likely ;)

"true breeding" can only be achieved for a couple of traits there will never be a completely homogeneous strain, it just goes against genetics. Achieving a crop of plants who's genetics match up exactly will never happen. F1's will be similar but not exactly the same.

OG Kush is a good example of the dank that can be found in hybrids just because it's not a worked seed line doesn't take away from how good it is. Also I don't know why you wouldn't consider a simple hybrid a new strain when it's offspring can be uniquely different from the parents and other strains.Even in these feminzed strains you are going to see variation. DNA also sells a OG #18 which they found in a crop of their own feminized seeds showing you there is varition. People that grow from seed have the oppurtunity to find something special and thats why most people do it. Growing from clone just lets you grow what everyone already has. Also Strawberry Cough is a clone only strain and a hybrid (Strawberry Feilds x Haze). Dutch Passion has a seed version but it is a hybrid with the original.

Had this awesome sativa breed in "southern" Illinois by some semi-famous old school breeder and this guy called it "Dick Durbin" after the Illinois senator. It grew about 4-5ft indoors and made one huge bomb @$$ cola that hit heavy. It even turned nice shades of purple when in the last 3-4 weeks of flowering...but due to unseen circumstances, it's no longer available. Dude also claimed to have the "real" g-13, but wouldn't give it up for anything. Claimed that no one was worthy of having it... until he messed up once and we got 2 beans and boy did he get pissed....but they both went male :wall:
