Why are we bailing out the banks?

"People who will not turn a shovel full of dirt on the project (Muscle Shoals Dam) nor contribute a pound of material, will collect more money from the United States than will the People who supply all the material and do all the work. This is the terrible thing about interest ...But here is the point: If the Nation can issue a dollar bond it can issue a dollar bill. The element that makes the bond good makes the bill good also. The difference between the bond and the bill is that the bond lets the money broker collect twice the amount of the bond and an additional 20%. Whereas the currency, the honest sort provided by the Constitution pays nobody but those who contribute in some useful way. It is absurd to say our Country can issue bonds and cannot issue currency. Both are promises to pay, but one fattens the usurer and the other helps the People.""
- Thomas A. Edison (1847 - 1931)

Has nothing to do with their pay. Has to do with the fact that their employees are idiots. Not even unions want anything to do with bankers.

The fact that they pay so much for idiots seems troubling. At least the auto workers produce an end product. What do bankers actually produce, paperwork? I also produce paperwork every time I go #2.

Eh, not my money, well except the portion that the government is using to bail them out, but seeing as how I was never going to see that money again anyway, I think I'm doing be bothered by it.

Of course, that doesn't mean that I'm going to stop thinking of Obama, McCain and Bush as complete and total idiots for their roles in pushing that stupidity.

Yeah, they have to keep the system afloat until everyone is sufficiently scared. If the masses don't freak out when TSHTF, there will be no reason to declare martial law.

Okay, first...that Dilbert was F'n funny as hell...

Second...? Okay moving right along (second is for losers)

Third... NEVER throw good money at bad books. You wanna argue over fault and culpability, fine, there'll be PLENTY of time for that later. You do not however reward failed business models with taxpayer monies. Banks....let them fail. Auto detroit....let them fail. Obama.... let him...oops he beat me to it.

It's the greatest show on earth, the dog and pony show!
The banks are holding america hostage and demanding a ransom!
I guess we do negotiate with terrorist after all huh?
Tho, I'm not sure if negotiating means, just give in to any request/threat made.
My favorite part is, the stern disciplinarian show that is displayed on the ol idiot box.
Do they deserve a bailout? Should we bail'em out?
That's not really a question being asked in DC now is it?
How much and how many times is the real question.
Senate/congress answer key: as much and as many times as the banks sees fit.

Tim McVeigh knew he fucked up when he later found out about the day care center; That's the only thing he apologized for. That's the only thing he needed to apologize for! Clearly we need a few Tims to start righting some of the wrongs.
You gona hero up at all cost? The fact that it's even debatable speaks volumes to our givin position, besides do you really need more reasons? God dam it! were americans! This comes at the demand of our forefathers, You must defend the constitution, even if that's against the government and all her might, then so be it!!
we must take action and defend this country, otherwise it's been all in vain.

....I need to go get baked and talk myself down from the snipers perch lol

Ok Crackerjax, I have done research on your economic theories and it turns out you are 100% correct. I apologize for my rants and wish to join you in a peace pipe offering. Im not going to argue with you anymore on politics since you clearly have me outmatched. I hope this squares it with us. I have to respect your honesty in all of your posts, even if I sometimes fly off the handle without checking the content.

No worries Med Man... glad to see you have seen the light. Welcome aboard to the train of critical thinking. :peace:
