why cant you take a clone from a plant in flower?

if some people are flowering straight from seed why do you have to clone during vegative stage?
Sorry if this is a dumb question.
maybe its more complicated than i think...???

That struck me as an odd question because 7 of my last 10 clones were from plants that were in flower. Little buds and all. Most people dont because it takes a longer time to put it back into veg mode with all the waiting for the mutant leaves and such to clear up

ok so it can in fact be done? i was under the impression it couldnt... do you have any threads on this by chance? do you use the same process as you would if it were in veg?

dont waste your time, do it from veg

the plant doesnt go into flower immediatly, the plant still still veges for a couple weeks

only got a couple fem beans left. took me 3 tries to get my first plant lol. maybe ill have better luck on the next run. my lady is looking real nice which is why i wanted to clone but shes a week or so into flower...

and shes def in flower

If it's not to late in flower it can work great. It will be like a reveg and you'll get all kinds of extra shoots growing out.

Yeah, I took some just as the host plant showed it's very first pistils. The clones took after a few weeks, like 3, then the clones grew top flowers, which are slowly disappearing as the now-in-soil clone has returned to it's normal growth size. It's cool though, cuz' before it switched back to normal, it grew lots of nodes for flowering, which will result in quite a bushy little bitch.
Your plant(s) look further into flowering than I've ever tried to clone from. Perhaps you could harvest, reveg, and THEN get the clones?

Awesome. Thanks for that. I got a clonex "kit" I'm gonna try and see what I can accomplish on my first attempt! Most of the branches have nice little buds on them. I'd be hard pressed to find one to take without sacrificing some good stuff...
