Lots of ways to make your process work. This among other methods i applied bacame the most affective for a 2-3 strain zone requiring 150-200 cuts each and with only a couple mothers to regenerate between iterations...

This is the main reason, even if cutting leaves did nothing every new grower would do it anyway until it became the new normal.

Defoliation wasnt even popular till a load of newbies heard it was possible and pushed it till now it seems you will loose yeild if you dont defoliate.

We could start our own myths if enough fancy writting the broscience out.

I cut the leaves to let the clone know who's boss and scare the roots into developing quicker. You can't let these plants think you're weak or they'll walk all over you.

Transportation extending the healthy life of the cutting. And also helps with uniformity of cuts and spacing. When you have large zones uniform cuts with uniform growth from clone has a big advantage from the start.
