why did ph & ppm go so high?

well when i mixed up my nuts with 20galons. mixed everything up well let it sit for a few tested at 7.0 ph so i ajusted it with ph down then got 6.2ph. aslo the nuts tested at 820ppm

2 days later the ph is back up 7.1 & ppm 1240 is this normal or what maybe water was evaporated so the nuts are higher. my plants are only about 3 inch taller.

also when my seeds were first groing in rockwool cubes 2 plants grew fast about 3 inches before anything else poped up. roots were out the bottom everything. kept them in the dome with the rest till they poped up planted everything at the same time into the hydro system. i think the roots on the 2 big plants kinda turned brownish maybe they were in the dome 2 long now thier curling up & dying, nut lock or root dying?

What kinda nutes are u using?

When i used organic nutes, my PH went to 7.1 almost everyday.

When i switched to synthetic, my PH remained at whatever i wanted it to stay at.

Don't know why this happened but whatever.

Bro you are using way too many nutes. Those look like seedlings so you can probably use just regular water or maybe 300-400ppm.

Flush that shit out now and they may live.

Calcium will regulate your ph and keep it balanced. Does your nutrients contain Calcium?

Calcium is not added to the soil or most fertilizers as a nutrient, but rather to balance the pH of the soil or hydroponic solution. So you need Calcium.

well one of the plants that was showing root rot is now showing signs of like again, thier is a little white root that has popsed down from thte rockwool cube. so hopfully she pulls through. the other who knows it will be a male more then likley anyways. but the other 3 are going strong.

the jump in PPM would be water evaporating... my setup does this...add water to your fill line ph'ed of course and the ppm goes right back to where you were... keep close eye on your fill line...when it drops your PPM will spike up high!!

Have you calibrated your meters recently? replaced the batteries? probably not the meter but might be worth checking.

my thoughts exactly, for some reason during the winter water starts evaporating 4263456234 times faster.

ya its weird 2 days after i get the water right its back up another 400ppm, & u peepz say thats mormal? the water isnt evaping that quick. i take 10 gallons out then put 10 new in then it goes back to norm.

that is very misleading, tckfu. i find my water doesn't evaporate any more than 4263456233 times!
:cry:I'm sorry, I failed you all:cry:

I dont know if its normal, I never grew hydroponicaly in the winter before, and I am having similar problems, not that big of a spike but close.
but from keeping fish and turtles I need to add 2 or 3 gallons to there tanks everyday in the winter months:? it evaporates that fast!

i hate to explain the joke i made but - i subtracted one from your obviously made up number in a lame attempt at humor.

Oh man - i am going to stop trying to be funny cause it ain't working out very well today :-(

Water evaporates more quickly in the winter months because there is so little humidity in the air. The air is DRY here in the midwest.

I was trying to be fuuny back... I got what you were saying!:blsmoke:
so what that its dry? the air has to steal our water because of its shortcomings?:evil::evil:

Actually a few things you got going wrong there. First in aero hydro your ph should be 5.8 is perect but can sway 5.5 to 6 max.Next you stated your using micro bloom for a young seedling in veg which is completely the wrong nute as you want a nitrogen heavy veg nute and bloom is light ot no nitrogen with high phosphourous so your telling your plant its almost time to die. Your ph will go up as water evaporates or is used by the plants. Your ppm should be lower closer to 300-400 on those little guys. You need to follow your ppm and ph daily keep a chart so you know what your plants are doing or want. If the ph and ppm stay good then they are happy in perfect eating and drinking order. If the ppm drops fast then they are eating and could use more food up the ppm.If the ph goes up fast they are drinking alot so add more water and watch the ph closely. You want ph and ppm to drop together or maintain together for balance. If ppm goes up they drank alot and are not feeding back off the nutes.

using grow as well so isnt that what i need? i thaught u used all of them together just diffrent amounts in diffrent stages?

also got some B52 stuff what is that exactly 4?

well what he is saying I THINK is that you are over nuting your little ones already,,,earliest stages usually the quickest stages they will be subject to dying.

the winter months are dry and do steal more water...but if your plants are near bloom and as mine are blooming, Just after one 12hr light cycle my 18 gal res will lose 1/4 of its capacity just over night!!! they drink alot!!!!!!!!

I've seen this before when I used tap water...I switched to reverse osmosis deionized water and the Lucas Formula several years ago never looked back...Then I noticed my vegetable garden flourished with my reservoir change-out nutes...I summized that I was wasting nutes and did an experiment...

I use GH flora series nutes and the Lucas Formula...I dont change the res at all, I just add rod water and/or nutes at the prescribed ratio...8ml Micro and 16 ml bloom in 1 gallon of rod (distilled is ok) water...my ph stays stable at 5.8-5.6 the whole grow, and I keep the ppm around 900...I do a regeneration and have had 3 harvests so far on Snow White doing this test...amazingly inexpensive and very effective....gonna try it on blue misty this spring again...best of luck...
