Limp stems saying it needs water.. Your soil must not hold water well or roots are restricted. Hot there? Some peak sun shade might help. Soaking surrounding soil will help water blowing out. Like folks need to water foundations in hot areas .

Ya its been over 100 here the last 3 weeks..... so i should wet the area around my plant?
Someone said i should put mulch around my plant to help it retain water is that true?

Both..straw works for mulch. Don't use beauty bark as its acidic. Sandy soil by chance?

Yes mulch will slow evaporation rate rocks work too.... but since you say you water at night and by the next morning its dry it has to be more than just the water evaporating. Next time I'd dig out a big bowl and plant in the center of it. This time I think cuhos right water everything around it too. water much more than a half gallon and just water less frequently. Don't create a swamp just saturate everything. By your description of the soil and your situation it seems like it would be hard to over water.
