Why Do Plants Pray?

So, yes plants follow light sources. It may not be as noticeable indoors, but it happens.
With that being said, I think it's crazy that people want to come and act like somebody is an idiot for not knowing that, as if everyone in the world should know the way cannabis reacts to things??? This guy just wants to know why plants do this and I find posts like #58 completely distasteful. You took time on that post that helped ABSOLUTELY NOBODY, you just wanted to try to make someone look stupid. It was more or less a pathetic attempt to make yourself look good to a bunch of people that you will never even meet in real life!

Agreed, as silly and repetitive as some things can be on here thats part whats great about RollItUp. New people can ask questions and get answers and learn, we were all new to growing and botany at one point.

PEACE AND LOVE!

Happy Growing to All and to All a Good High!

notice how my plants are praying to the light, and they do it in the same fashion as they would towards natural sunlightmail.google.com.jpg

They get 6 hours of sun, and 12 hours under 42W(200)currently at a 2 inch height. I see no response under the CFL's that would indicate the same response rate.

This is why. I believe that full sun spectrum will out-perform any soil blends or additive products currently on the market.
I too have plants in soil that get 6 hours of sun everyday and 12 hours under 42 watt(6500k) CFL's and my plants
pray indoor and out. I use FF soil.

They tought me this shit when I was in 4th grade that plants grow towards the sun and will bend to face it, seems like some of yall must have been sick that day :D

i don't think anyone said that plants don't bend and move towards the sun, of course they do. They are just saying that they also will do that with artificial lighting as long as its a healthy plant of course like my plants will do as the pic shows a couple posts up

To the sun(as pictured)yet never do this under artificial lighting?.
They are simply maximizing their surface area exposed to the light, same as you would tune a solar panel to collect the most light, nothing more or less. And yes the same thing can occur under artificial light. Many strains of sunflowers will return to facing east overnight in anticipation of the morning sun.

Indoors plants will pray in the early morning hours without any light at all.
They some how sense that the sun is coming. Fact.

Plants also have glands (name escapes me at the moment) that open and close on the bottom of the leaves. They allow the plant to dispel excess water which aids in cooling. This also dictates wether the leaf curls or is open.

I had the answer in my previous thread, the opener here was never intended to ask a question...it was meant to challenge anyone who feels that artificial lighting or mediums can out-perform natural sunlight in it's equivalence. It was also meant to bring out the smartasses.

The idea of artificial lighting not being able to outperform sunlight is bullshit. Go somewhere a little farther away from the equator. Live in my world for a few years. I haven't seen the sun in about a month but don't expect to. With artificial lighting you always have a sunny day. Come to Oregon and see if you can get 2 weeks without wind, rain & clouds on the coast.

Nope, they are under 42W(200)6500K bulbs for an additional 12 hours. Plus, my outdoor grows do the same and I have not seen one plant here under artificial lighting that do this.
Maybe not with CFL, but they sure as hell do it with MH/HPS. I've seen it dozens of times.
