Just to name a few benzodiazepine class anxiolytics: Valium (Diazepam), Xanax (Alprazolam), Restoril (Temazepam), Klonopin (Clonazepam), Ativan (Lorazepam).

It's ok that you put her on one of the most addictive pharmaceutical substances on the planet to help her with her "addiction" problem, though. You only have her best interest at heart, even though it might kill her, right?

After a death in the family 10 years ago I asked my Dr. for Valium. She gave me Xanax. Took a couple, didn't feel one bit better so I gave the other 28 away. I don't know what the attraction is to that shit. Didn't feel better, no buzz, WTF? Was I supposed to take more? Weed seems more reliable.

I'm on a mixture of Quetiapine / Mirtazapine / Citalopram following a break down 2 years ago.

Smoking helps me manage my aniexty and stress throughout the day more than any other drug I've tried.

Unfortunately I've also got COPD - I guess as a result of 35+ years smoking/toking - another huge pile of medication to go with that. And tbh, good grass helps - I guess it's muscle relaxation that comes along with a good smoke.

Edibles might be for you. They have more of a body effect and will give you more time under the curve than smoking. Sorry about the COPD.

Xanax is way more addictive, destructive, and counterproductive than weed, and is one medication that has a withdraw that can kill you. So you encouraging your wife to do that was a huge mistake. And no, you can't get addicted to weed, at least not more than you can get addicted to a behavior.
I didn't encourage her to take Xanax, her shrink did. No way would I recommend that to anyone. Her job stresses the shit out of her, and that is one thing I did recommend, to quit the Xanax and find something that works for your health (Tai Chi ?) not against it. Anyway, in 3 weeks she has a long vacation coming up, and I agreed to put down the glass, and she will will put down the pipe for 1 month, or at least cut down to 2 grams a day. And yea, something that you do long enough that you love, like smoking one every day (hour?) is an addiction, whether it it be toking, or pulling your pud. Try stopping, and let me know how it goes for you.

It doesn't make sense that you're ok with a more dangerous substance just because it's at a doctor's discretion. Move to a medical marijuana state, if all that's stopping you from coming to terms with her use is what a doctor believes.

Only been smoking for few years. Tried it few times but only when drunk so felt sick every time. A lot of years of living a "wilder" lifestyle, my body revolted and tried to kill me. Gave it a little time. Tried to beat on it again. It tried harder to kill me. I'm stubborn, not stupid.
So had to quit drinking. Sober for about a year. Then my world blew up. Pot was the only thing that kept me alive. Looking back, my life would've probably been a lot better if I smoked pot along time ago.
Now growing pot is giving me purpose. I feel like the last few months of learning has helped me heal more than the last few years. Both physically and mentally. I don't take anything but an naproxen now and then. Quit drinking, smoking(tobacco). Lost some weight.
Price went up around here and that got my ass into growing. Thank (insert believed deity here) that happened.

This forum has been a big part of that. Great place for info (search works well). Some smart growers here.
And a place to argue without getting shot. Love it.

Why does a man drive an ice cream truck? My answer is the same. It ain't about the money. It ain't about the fame. It's about seeing the smiles on the children's faces.

What the fuck are you talking about, my "coming to terms" about my wife's smoking habit's. I made a comment, and all I have been hearing from you is that it is my problem, not her's or her doctors. What, are you a psychoanalyst, defining my problems? And no, you actually are not that cool, Rudolph.
