i would like to be able to put my tv on vh1 at night or maybe one of the cable music channels and only have the audio on. sometimes the light bugs me when i sleep but i like to listen to music. why dont they have that button?

it would be a great add if they did...i got the same prob as you..i do got some blacked out music channels but they kinda suck

only fix i can thin of is making one video preset black by taking out all the color/contrast/brightness , then only sound comes out

hook speakers straight to your cable box, turn tv off but leave cable box on and you'll hear it still.

yeah thats a good call. just use a splitter on the audio outputs from the cable box. send one to speakers, another to the tv.

what do you think they would call that button on the remote that mutes the video? since mute only relates to audio. maybe darken? lol

if you got a receiver with a optical port you can run the optical wire from your surround sound straight to the box.If your tv's hooked up with hdmi you can still get sound from the tv to.
